Stay Humble...

Keep your nose to the grindstone...

Don't count your chickens before they hatch...

That's why they play the games...

Any of this seem appropriate?!?

Before the season I had said we would go 12-4 with a loss to:

New England
Atlanta
Carolina
Philly or NY Giants

We made it past Philly, and now I would put the Jets in the place of Carolina as a possible loss.

I'm not as scared of NE or NYG after seeing them play some this season, so I voted for the Jets.

You can leave all those adages to the players. They're the ones getting paid not to overreact. We fans, however, pay for the right to overreact.

Well said. Its annoying when posters tell other posters to reign the enthusiasm in, like a fan being overly-optimistic is somehow going to affect the overall play of the team. LOL!

I think the Giants will be our toughest game, on paper at least. I figure we'll split with the falcons and the Jets are gonna be tough too. This is the NFL and the 2 or 3 patsies out there this year are not on our schedule, but then again neither is who I consider to be the best team in the league this year which is the Ravens. Every game is going to be tough, but I think we'll win 12 the way we are going.

next week is a good test but after the bye week we get really serious. sweep the division and we are set!

Pencil in all the division games as the hardest. Besides that, I will have to say the Giants game. For some reason, I do not believe the Saints defense will be able to handle Brandon Jacobs.

EDIT: The last time we won a game, on the road, outdoors, in december was against the Giants. Bush and Deuce absolutely destroyed them on the ground. So really, Brees sucks outside on the road in the cold. I have no idea how he was so good in the Big 10.

Wow.. that's some great logic there, buddy. Keep it up.

One, FedEx field is downright friendly compared to most stadiums around the league, especially when the Skins blow chucks like they are blowing chunks this year.
Two, it isn't THAT cold in December in Washington. The real cold usually doesn't get there until mid Jan.
Three, how do you figure that "really, Brees sucks outside on the road in the cold"? Maybe if the defense had not allowed other teams to score 30+ or not allowing teams to score on the last drive, call me crazy, but just maybe, the Saints would've won those games.

The Giants will be a hard game on offense and defense.

I agree with SFIAH--the "next game" is always the toughest. That said, of the remaining opponents, I think the Giants have the best matchup against the Saints. Their D-line will harass Brees all day, and he won't play well (he never does under constant pressure). The defense will have to step up big like they did against Buffalo, but the Giants are much better at QB and O-line than the Bills. The running game will also need to be solid, but again the Giants' D is better than Buffalo's.
