watch that video at 1:14......thats a cut he would've regularly made before the injuries.....hes not the same reggie he was and even tho cutting back in the exact same play proves he is still fast, he just doesnt have the same stability in those legs to make the crazy cuts he used to

Nah, I think he was just indecisive on that play. Looks like he thought about cutting it inside but saw the green coming his way to late. He should have just taken it OB like he normally would. Which is fine.

barry sanders ranks #3 on my list of best running backs of all time......even with all those backward runs he was on pace to break the record for most rushing yardage

i know you're saying that bush could never do what barry did, but you also offered that up as evidence that running away from contact is ok

whenever reggie leads the league in rushing then i will concede my argument but there are very few exceptions to the rules and reggie doesnt seem to be one of them

reggie is barry-esque but he is not barry sanders

avoiding contact isnt the best way to get yourself noticed unless you want to get ridiculed.....i would much rather have a running back battle for the extra yard than hop out of bounds

Reference Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell. They have no problem turning it upfield for that extra 2 or 3 yards.

IIRC, the 36 yard run by Pierre Thomas that went OB at the 1 was a thing of tackle-breakin beauty.

Reggie scoots OB before the 20 yard line.

Yeah but they are completely different RBs. In other words, we could start a thread about how Pierre has trouble reversing field. :cool:

You mean, East-West dancing?

I've seen PT reverse field before. He does it quite well. He also knows how to read blocks a lot better than Bush does. He also breaks tackles better, he receives well and his cut backs fantastic. Bell also has a sweet 1-cut and up move that Bush will probably never learn to do.

I'd love to see some video of PT struggling to reverse field.
