Re: What's with all the hate on Reggie?
i hate him on special teams....there i said it. every time its kicked im worried about a fumble and the opposition is gonna get the ball back with good field position. Im tired of watching him decide to run left/right/backwards before running forward. theres even been a few kicks he shouldve called a fair catch on but instead let the ball bounce over his head giving us worse field position. yeah i realize, hes taken a few to the house, but thats the last thing i think about when i see him returning kicks.

Re: What's with all the hate on Reggie?
I remember a very similar running back that was not great until later in his career. Tiki Barber was a very similar type of player. Believe me, there is time for Reggie Bush to be great, and he will bounce back from this disaster start. Yes, things could be a lot worse. Had the Saints not signed Drew Brees, Matt Leinart would have been the QB of the New Orleans Saints. Think about that for a second...

Re: What's with all the hate on Reggie?
Reggie has shown glimpses of greatness - the game against SanFran in his rookie year, and last year's game vs the Vikings stand out in my mind.
As a Saints fan I still have faith that Reggie can someday become Pro-Bowl caliber, his pedestrian performances and fumble problems notwithstanding. A guy at the bar told me I should ditch the Bush jersey and get a Brees uni --- but what he doesn't understand is that fateful week of the NFL draft when Houston went with Mario Williams and the Saints got to pick Bush. It was walking on the clouds, a true sign that things WERE GOING to change. That's the feeling that is tied to that jersey. |

The money he is getting and the picks we can get for him. I don't think we can afford to wait that long. |

Re: What's with all the hate on Reggie?
I think he still has that scared rookie look in his eyes. That fumble against the jets, was completely his fault. He was carrying the ball like a elementary school kid carries their history book. I dont hate him, but i cant say ive never used a few swear words when talking about his gameplay. He just needs to get his head together.
Oh. Inner ear problems cause dizziness, nausia, and sometimes vomiting, when u are in constant motion, or even when u are standing still. So riding a roller coaster would be pretty ignorant, if u have this problem. So, nothing to do with fear. More like a hatred for puking. Its ok, the person this statement is written for, will know what its about. ![]() |

Re: What's with all the hate on Reggie?
If you think of him a wide receiver/return man and not a running back it fits in your brain.
How much we paid for a return man wide receiver doesn't fit in your brain. Erik Metcalf--A multi-talented player, Metcalf excelled at offense and as a returner on special teams. In his second NFL season, he led the league in kickoff return yards (1,052) and return touchdowns (two). He also led the NFL in punt return touchdowns in four different seasons (1993-1995, 1997). Overall, Metcalf finished his career with 2,392 rushing yards, 541 receptions for 5,572 yards, 3,453 punt return yards, and 5,813 yards returning kickoffs. This gave him a total of 17,230 all-purpose yards, ranking him among the NFL's top 10 in that category at the time of his retirement. He also scored 55 touchdowns (12 rushing, 31 receiving, ten punt returns, two kickoff returns). |
