Saints LB Vilma Calls Out New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez's "Dirty" Block
Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma was less than impressed with New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez after the rookie was flagged for throwing an illegal block at Vilma’s knees.
Vilma expressed surprise when asked about the play after the game. "Actually, I was surprised he [cut me]," Vilma said in the Saints locker room. "I was very surprised. I don’t know what he was doing, to be honest with you. I saw him, and thought he was just trying to buy time, and then he goes and cuts me. It was kind of dirty, and he got the penalty for it." I hate to say it but it kinda was. I don’t think it was an intentional let-me-try-and-hurt-this-guy play, but I definitely think Sanchez should know better. I just really hope this wasn’t a warning flag about his maturity level. The cut block to Vilma’s knees came after Sanchez launched a red-zone interception to Darren Sharper who ran it back 99 yards for the touchdown. I know getting picked right on the cusp of a scoring drive has got to be maddening for the competitive breed that is an NFL quarterback, but you can’t take your frustration out like that. I truly hope it was just a momentary lapse in reason for the young Jet. After that play I really wanted someone on the team or Vilma to rip Sanchez's head off every chance they got, I was quite p'ed that rookie would go after the knee's our of defense caption

once again, HE IS A PUNK A** BIT** ! The nfl has all the new rules to protect the qb's, and he goes for a cheap shot. Thank god that didn't turn out bad for us. Once again the nfl shows no consistency when the hand out fines. or the lack of.
