Chase Daniel back with Saints
The Saints shuffled their roster ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Giants at the Superdome.
Preseason star Rod Harper was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury and quarterback Chase Daniel was re-signed days after being waived to make room for reinstated kicker Garrett Hartley. Harper, a wide receiver, made the team after opening eyes with a pair of punt returns for touchdowns during preseason. He was never active during the regular season, however, as the former ArenaFootball2 star couldn't make his way past any of the other wideouts on the deep Saints depth chart. Daniel, an undrafted rookie from Missouri, was signed to the Saints practice squad after failing to make the Redskins this summer. He spent two weeks on the active roster before getting waived and will likely resume his role as the emergency quarterback behind Drew Brees and Mark Brunell. Re: Chase Daniel back with Saints
Saw this in the paper. Not sure why we have to carry three QB's though. Maybe something is going on we do not know about or maybe they want to protect him and not lose him. Really thought we could maybe add depth somewhere else. Between quarterback and kickers we tie up six roster spots. I see why Payton kept the kickers just not sure about this one although I like Chase and think he may be a good one.

Re: Chase Daniel back with Saints
Very interesting move. I would have to bet that some other team is at least lukewarm on Chase. As for Harper going on IR, I actually seen that one coming. I knew the minute Harper was placed on the active roster that the Saints would jump at the first chance to secure him away on IR. It just makes sense, Harper had no real shot for this season...
