I don't know if you guys really pay attention to the game at all but the Saints passing game is all timing and Bree's precision. Everyone is on the same page when the play is for the ball to be at a certain spot at a certain time. Brees gets that ball released to a spot and the WR hasn't even looked back for the ball they sometimes just start putting there hands up or jumping because they know where the ball is going to be. You can't defend that, has nothing to do with an effective running game. An effective running game is to keep take time off the clock. Look what Bees did last year with no running game.
The ONLY difference this year is that we have a D and our running game is slightly improved with Bush at 3rd string (LMAO).

You realize that all 4 of Brees' TDs were off the play action, right? I'd say it's doing a little more than killing the clock. Hell, the run game bailed us out in two games this season.

But the real question is, if reggie is as bad as you say, who would trade for him and what would they give up?

Did we lose the game with those fumble? Idk if we did just wondering. Valid point regarding NFL as a business. But look at us and tHe saints as a team. We have probably the biggest supporters of fans. And talkig about business we always sell out. We make a shot load of revenue. And I know what you mean by spending soo much for bush. His contract will be done in maybe 2 to 3 years. Deal with the money spent because if we cut him it will hurt our cap. We can resign him for a lower rate once his contract is up.

Actually Euph Reggie has won us games before. That ATL game in 2007, Bucs game in 2006 and some more I cant think of at the moment. Also in 2008 he was making big plays to win us games but our defense and Field goal kickers sucked.

I like the three headed RB scheme because it works. You can make arguments over how much Reggie makes, his under-achieving vs. his draft rank, and his turnovers, but the fact remains that he's another arrow in Payton's quiver to strike at the opposition. I'm just happy that coach has finally put away the cute dipsy doodle plays featuring flips and laterals to Reggie that never seemed to produce anything but fan tension and turnovers!

What I'd like to see is the RB coach getting with Tiki Barber and getting our guys to use his hold technique. If you remember, the knock on Tiki was his fumblitis. He worked on his handle, and became lethal in the last years of his career. If its as simple as re-learning how to carry so the ball doesn't pop free, why not?

Yeah agree with leilung. I think if you look at it, at time Reggie holds the ball like a rugby ball.

I don't know if you understand my point... not saying he is as bad as anything but for a business stand point it doesn't make much sense to have a player collecting a fat check not contributing to wins as other players making very little money. Thats just down right bad business! When we have to deal with cap issues he isn't making this any easier for his cause.

I don't know if I would take anyone for him but I would take draft 'picks'. we have a history of doing well with later round draft picks. We could use some special teams help the ways its going.

Also doesn't make much sense to have a Number 2 overall pick sitting 3rd string anything. I mean come on really?

I'll say this in caps so its clear "I HOPE HE TURNS IT AROUND I HOPE HE WINS GAMES FOR US". Right now it doesn't make much sense business wise.

Reggie knows how to carry the damn ball. He just made bone headed mistakes in concentration. He knows how to catch a PR and what to do he's been doing it forever! It was a mental lapse. His head isn't into it maybe to much on Kim's butt. Those muff punts and fumbles are just a mental lapse he just isn't into the game. He isn't showing that "we need me to do something to win - give me the ball" attitude.

I think Reggie may be accepting his role somewhat. I still think we are better with him and agree he can make plays that our other runners can not make. Our dilemma and more so the coaches is the price for production question that will not be answered until the end of this season.

I asking what you think Reggie's trade value is. With his body of work, his injury history and his heavy contract, who is going to deal for him? What 'picks' would you as the decision maker give up for him?

This is all to say that I think we are stuck with Reggie for better or worse. I don't think we could get a deal done for him.

I don't see Loomis being able to trade Reggie due to his contract and his injuries. What team would be dumb enough to trade away their future for a 3rd down specialist/punt returner anyways (btw I like Reggie)

If anything I think the pats would get him. Bill belichick has this way of finding good players and beleive me that guy will make Reggie a star. Just my idea what do you think?

bill belichick also has a history of not using running backs well

he has a plethora of running backs because he doesnt know how to use them and the pats run game is virtually non-existant until the game is already won

the pats are ranked 13th in rushing offense but lets be honest....its not because of the running backs.....its because of the passing attack and the ridiculous offensive line they have

reggie is better suited in our system than any other in the league and he is very lucky to have been drafted by us.....he wouldnt have a job right now IMO if he had gone anywhere else

Re: Reggie

this is the team that passed for 5000 yards with out one receiver gaining a thousand, and the team that just had seven players score a td in one game. in other words they spread the ball around a lot and not one player is going to get huge stats every week. this is why they are so effective, and i still say you'll see the biggest impact from reggie the first time we are playing from behind, which hasn't happened yet. i don't think there is a better receiving back in the league than reggie and that fits great in our offensive scheme.

Our FO does seem to over pay players. Reggie is just one of them. However, I like Reggie and I believe he will turn it around soon. I hope he doesn't make me eat my words.
