Hi, if you are lurking from another team or region, you are reading culture right now that you can only get from a New Orleans Saints website. We have our own language, live in places with funny names, and often have funny names. With that said, enjoy your confusion for now, and we'll
explain it all later if you need. But definitely read this discussion, whether it makes sense or not.

WhoDats, besides having a talented team, a decent schedule, and better luck regarding injuries, we obviously are doing something right this year. We are Catholics, and all kinds of religions or non-religions, but All Saints Fans do some kind of voodoo thing, which apparently we have chosen well this year.

So? What is your gris-gris this year? And why all of a sudden is it working?

Mine, since '06 has been my new wife! (you see, gris-gris does not have to be something unpleasant. That would be my EX! )
Ok, so '07 and '08 were not all that, she's blingier this year, hence our success. Also, this is crazy, we were eating Chinese food back in July, and her fortune cookie said, "your sports team will win this year." I kid you not. She takes that fortune everywhere. Be sure she smiles upon you. She's Lady Luck!

Well, I know that last year we thought it was going to be our year but as we are getting married on 1st of November of this year we believed that the Saints wanted to wait until we did before winning the Lombardi Trophy as a Wedding Gift for us so that's why they held off last year (stop laughing at the back! It's what we believe so there!)

Mine is pretty simple. I wear my lucky Saints hat given to me when I was supposed to die from cancer. It has proven to be really lucky so far. :cool:

Hey, I'm not laughing. We married in '06, and that was the last Magic Year. I wore a black and gold tux, and had a Superdome grooms cake.
Man, thats wild, Rugby. You know Strato was wearing his Saints cap when he had a wreck, totalled his truck, and walked away with bumps & bruises. How does a team with a curse have a lucky hat? Dont know, but glad it does.

I post my incredibly early playoff predictions in order to collect the negative vibe from the hordes of "One game at a time" ninnys. I bottle the negative vibe in stainless steel lined lead containers and then bury it in the opposing team septic tank. The bad joojoo crawls up the sewer and into the opposing coaches colo-rectal area where it resides until gametime and then forces them to concentrate on porcelain plumbing fixtures instead of the game.

This season I've worn either my Brees jersey or my Saints t-shirt for every game and rub the cross on my necklace constantly. Three of my friends and I get together at my place and watch the game. We decided after the Bills victory that we had to keep the trend going no matter what. We added a fifth member last Sunday for the Giants game, but warned him that if the Saints lost, he would not be allowed back. We know what happened there, so the mojo hasn't stopped. In reality, I know this has no bearing on the outcome, but in my head, it makes all the difference in the world.

I remember those voodoo dolls, Canton. You made those for a Bengals game you went to in Cincy.

I almost forgot mine. My ex-wife had an actual civil conversation the other day. Snowflakes were falling in Hell and I knew there would be something different about this year. Also, my game-day ritual-- I paint a shoe-white Fleur on the back window of our vehicle on the way to New Orleans.

One game at at time, Gumbeau, one game at a time. Lets worry.

I crush nonbeneficial bugs on gameday; I have this delusion that there's a psychic connection between the bugs and the Saints' opponent. Their bodies fortify my garden.

I've done the same, no haircut since traing camp and I wear the opposite color jersey on game day.

Although I didn't realize it, I haven't shaved since week 1. So that ain't happening for a while...I'm thinking Ash Wed.

Also, my GF bought me a Deuce jersey for christmas last year, not knowing his days as a Saint were numbered. She's worn it for a couple games, and I've worn it for a couple games. This weekend, we were in NO and a friend came down for the game. He didn't have any tickets and only had $100 to spend. He got tickets on the 5th freaking row for less money that we spent 6 weeks ago. We sat in the rafters, he was nearly on the sidelines. I like to think that we're bringing Deuce along for the ride with that jersey.

Finally, I pee outside any chance I get. It has nothing to do with football, I just like not having to flush, aim or worry with lifting the seat.

I wear my St. Michael pendant that my wife bought me while she was down south this year. Ironically, she never actually returned home, she just moved to another city in Idaho with my kids.

I think she bought me the pendant so I would have something to hold on to when she left me.

Anyway, the Saints haven't lost a game since she left me...good for the team, bad for Norm. If she officially quits trying to work it out with me and divorces me, then the Saints go to the Superbowl...I'm going to seriously consider counseling.

Oh yeah....I never wear underwear with the opposing team colors on them on gameday.

So Yats, obviously, its not so much that the team is talented, as it is we have finally found the correct combinations of gris-gris. It took us years to develop the exact formula. Keep it up.

Durn it, I meant to put an option for "crushing nonbeneficial bugs." Thats gotta be the first thing on many people's minds.

Ok, a new rule was made yesterday...
We had a halloween party Saturday night, and my girlfriend braided my hair as part of my costume.
I didn't feel like messing with them yesterday morning so left them in.

Saints were getting the snot kicked out of them early.
I didn't know what to do! I lit a candle next to the cat skull that sits on the mantle... that didn't help. Then it hit me... "It's these stinking braids!!!"
I hurreldy took them out, then Brees goes over the top for a TD!!
Rule: NO BRAIDS ON GAME DAY!

i dont wear anything saints on gameday until the games over...yesterday i wore my hoodie and they were losing. i took it off when my friend came over and cause it was getting warm in my house...half an hour later my aunt is texting me saying the saints are making that game interesting. (being in new england i dont get to see many games on TV...) I changed the channel real quick to watch the last 10 minutes of the game

Always wear my black n gold striped Asics, Reggie Bush jersey and tan shorts on gameday. Becoming more of a challenge to wear those shorts - I was covering up my legs with my daughter's coat yesterday - but I'll wear 'em so dem Saints keep winning.

Man I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've burned three hats in the past 2 years,finally dug out my old faded, crusty hat from 2006 I wear my Shockey jersey on tuesday and now my mother wears her Brees jersey on tuesday also. By the way went to the game last sunday with a giants fan.When he got in the truck with his giants jersey I asked him if he was crazy but he said he had worn it to philly and nobodys fans are worse on away fans thank you who dat nation for proving him wrong he put is jacket on at halftime

welcome Goula Saint. sorry your friend got hassled in the Dome. Could be worse, he could be a Bears fan in the playoffs.

If we do get the Bears, I propose we bring styrofoam balls, paint them yellow (like pee pee) and pretend they're snowballs, and write "Welcome to N.O" on them, just to make a statement.

I have been wearin the same clothes on gameday since week 1.... Saints socks.... saints boxers.... My Saints Untouchables shirts and saints sleepin pants... with a saints pullover... with my hoody on.... In my bedroom on the couch... with my saints lights on with t.v. on volume 24.... lol.... and we are undefeated... and 3 my friends come over and I only allow them because they have been watchin the games with me since week 1.......

Well, Gumbeau may not admit to it, but his wifeunit will!

I wear the EXACT same thing to every game viewing at Big Woodrows. This is the first year that I have been so particular and it's working!!

I wear a pair of cream Rocket Dog slip on shoes that have gold bling all over them, the same pair of Champion ladies ankle socks with a pink C on the back, the same black undies and bra, the same pair of black capri pants, and a black & gold oversized jersey type shirt that says SAINTS on the front but no particular players name on the back. I have a pair of fleur-de-lis earrings and I wear the same exact make-up, black eyeliner, black mascara and gold eye-shadow.

And until the game against Miami, I sat in the exact same chair and the exact same table every game too! (Oh, and I do wash all except the jersey every week, so no comments on smelly stuff). I even order the same appetizer every week, the Blue Moon Shrooms. Hey, it's WORKING, so don't knock it Gumbeau!

I go eat at the same place for breakfast (uncle's donut shop) before we leave for new orleans on sunday mornings, each year we switch it up but we might keep it after this season besides that I wear the same throw back black brees jeresy that i got in 06 for every game that I get to watch
