And of course the Giants D-coordinator just came out and said what an idiotic game plan it really was looking back.. He said they would have done things a lot differently, and will do things a lot differently with the game plan if they meet again.

The Saints are running into one of the most physical teams in the NFL in the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. They better be prepared for a war, because Miami will be a lot more up for this one than the Giants were last week.
- Greyboy (Dolphin / Saints Predictions & Why - Page 5 - Miami Dolphins Fans, News, Salary Cap, Forums)

A. The Dolphins defense is not any better than the Giants.
B. They are actually very similar teams: Strong D line and weak secondary.

How else do you expect to be more successful against us than NYG were?

Rush us and you get burned.
Sit back and you get burned.
Do I really need to name every one of our weapons?

I got a prediction...

Drew Brees shoots lighting from his eyes for three straight quarters on the team that passed on him, then takes 1 series in the 4th to piss pure intensity on their charred remains before passing them off to Brunell.

48-10 Santos

There are three Dolphins pass-rushers who need to step up and spend an afternoon in the backfield with Saints’ QB Drew Brees on Sunday. Jason Taylor, Cameron Wake, and Joey Porter have got to win their one-on-one matchups enough to knock Brees down and not allow him to get comfortable in the pocket. We can talk about ball-control, the Wildcat, and many other factors heading into this game, but the bottom line is that you can’t make Brees look like a Pro-Bowler – like the Giants did last week.

It’s not just sacks – it’s constant pressure. Brees loves to drop back & throw it down the field… if he has time to throw, he’ll kill you. His skill players are probably the best in the league at making adjustments when the ball’s in the air and coming down with tough catches in tight coverage.

The Saints are 5-0 and coming off an impressive 48-27 victory over the previously unbeaten Giants. Many around the NFL are labeling the Saints as the best team in the league. I know the players are tired of hearing how good New Orleans is – they’re the stat kings of the NFL. Miami needs to go out on the field and do something about it.
The Saints Come Marching Into South Florida

Ummmm, sorry but, the Giants tried everything possible to NOT make Brees look like the Probowler that HE IS.

And we beg you to blitz!! BEG YOU!!

Another comment I see over and over is "how well our young corners have played over the last two games".

You played against RYAN FITZPATRICK AND MARK SANCHEZ!!!

C'mon now, if you're going to go that route keep in mind that the vast majority of the Saints INTs and SCKs have come against
Stafford - 1st NFL start
Kolb - 1st NFL start
Sanchez
Edwards - really crappy QB, as well.

You have to admit, the Dolphin fans are not delusional or rude, and do have a vocabulary, unlike the Lions, Giants, and Eagles fans. The 2 guys who have been posting here all week have represented the Phin nation well.

I was referring to the comments the fan made about their CB's performances in the last two games. Our last two games were vs two very O lines as well. Okay, I'll give you the Jets, since we played the same team. But the Giants..? We dominated one of the better o lines in the game.

What I took from your comments was that you were suggesting that the idea that our CBs have shown improvement (over the last 2 games) meant very little due to the quality of opposition.
If one is going to take that view then IMO it's fair to question how meaningful 11 out of the 12 INTs and 10 out of the 11 SCKs are that your D has recorded. Since most of them have come from QBs with little to no experience.
After all, while your defense pressured Manning into a subpar game, you still only recorded a single INT and a single SCK against the Giants.
Are you then saying that your game against the Giants is the only game to use as a measuring stick?
I guess I just don't really understand your comments.
(and yeah maybe I'm slow)
For that matter our 3 losses came against ATL, Indy and SD. Three teams who are potentially going to be in the playoffs. While all but one of your wins have been against crappy teams. Does that make your wins less or our losses more meaningful to the overall quality of the 2 teams?
I'm just curious...

I'll have to admit I thought that one was kind of dumb.
I'd love if he only looks like a Probowler and not a future Hall of Famer on Sunday.

Since I'm one of the only two FinFans I've seen on here this week I'll assume you mean me. So thank you very much, I have enjoyed talking with you guys. Saint fans have much higher football IQ's then any team we have played this year.

If you weren't talking about me then I feel like an ass and never mind lol.

Yes, I would take quality of opponent into account.

You feel free to question the validity of our defensive #'s all you want. Bottom line (and my point) is that MIA fans are getting excited about how well the CB's played against Sanchez and Edwards.

Stats? Okay, let's compare the two teams we've both played - NYJ and BUFF:

MIA: Sacks 7 Picks 3
NO: Sacks 8 Picks 4

Well damn...LOL, That makes MIA's defense just about the best in the league!! :p

Seriously though, the two teams put up 37 pts on MIA. On us? 17...

C'mon dude...New Orleans had TWO sacks, ONE int and also forced Manning into a fumble (we recovered yay!)...and that doesn't even count the # of times he was rocked and/or threw the ball away to avoid a sack or int. :poke:

Would you say NYG, PHI and NYJ aren't playoff teams??? Before you say it, keep in mind the NYJ have a one game lead on the PHINS...

Look, I welcome your thoughts and as I've stated in other posts, I respect what your offense does. Let's just agree though that your defense surrenders points mostly bc of the secondary...

Re: Funny Fin Fan Predictions

Here is yet another example of making up excuses on why we won. Why are people living in la la land when talking about our team. He says below that the the Saints have not played in a physical game yet and the only reason the Giants got away from their type of play is because we went up on them early.

Thats the freakin point!!! We take teams out of their game plan when we go up early on them. The opposing team does not give the lead away to us early, WE TAKE IT FROM THEM!!! I am so sick of reading excuses, just give us our due and try to stop us. Maybe some of these fans (notice I say some) will get their head out of their asses and realize we have a Superbowl caliber team.

Brees and Saints get slice of humble pie Sunday - Miami Dolphins Fans, News, Salary Cap, Forums

"With all due respect to the Giants I really dont think the Saints have played a game as physical as they will against the Phins this weekend. The Giants are certainly one of the most physical teams in the league but they got away from their teams true nature because the Saints put up big on them before they could answer. I believe the Dolphins will stick to their hat on hat philosophy this weekend and play smart football to beat one of the BEST teams in the league. Although it's not even a conference game I believe the Dolphins want to leave an impression on the ENTIRE league. And I most certainly hope they come out on top but not exhausting themselves at the same time."

I have to defend my fellow FinFans on this. FinHeaven is my home site and if anything we are tarring up the jet/bill fans. First of all how pathetic are their teams that they don't even trash talk their upcoming opponents fan sites? Both of their garbage teams just got man handled by the Dolphins and they have the nerve to come on our site and run their mouths about the Saints?

Thats like Giant fans coming on here and talking trash about what the Dolphins are gonna do to you Sunday. Pretty weak if you as me.

I can't speak to the Giants 'D' but I can tell you the Jets 'D' from what I saw two weeks ago isn't what was advertised. My Fins man handled there D-line all game. I was really expecting this slug fest when we played them and was very surprised how soft their 'D' was.

From what I have seen just in the last few years of the Giants 'D' it's hard to believe there not a tough hard nosed bunch.

Re: Funny Fin Fan Predictions

If the Saints are not flat this week, which it would be understandable if they are, and if they protect the ball, which they've done very well this year, they will win a tough game against a good Dolphins team. The Dolphins will have success running the ball. The Saints will have success running and passing the ball. The Saints have more talent on both sides of the ball. Not even close. But, as the old saying goes, that's why they play the games.

Re: Funny Fin Fan Predictions

I have been posting a lot on their site today and have been impressed with what I have seen from them and agree they represent themselves well. I have no animosity toward them and think they are like most fans everywhere else hoping their team can produce a win. I am an ex- dolphin fan from the old days. Now will never change from being a Saints fan.
Please hurry up Sunday I want to see how we stack up against this team each week the Saints have shown me we have reason to believe they can adjust to whatever is thrown at them.
