Any word on Big Sed
Did they give an ingame update on Sed Ellis's injury? I saw him get helped off the field and it looked like his knee got twisted in a pile.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
Also, what about Stinchcomb? Didn't he get hurt at some point? Did he come back in?
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
On Sed, I heard "bruised knee" but no details.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed

Our Depth is so Amazing we don't even need to miss players anymore when they're injured, as Saints fans we're not use to not being Paranoid.

Not that I don't love Sed, but Hargrove really stepped up. |
Re: Any word on Big Sed
Hargrove is a bad man. A great pick up.

Re: Any word on Big Sed
Sprained knee. Man this sucks
MIAMI -- New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis was forced from Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins because of a sprained right knee, and he'll undergo tests Monday. Ellis was hurt late in the second quarter and helped off the field. "I've been putting pressure on it and trying to walk on it a little bit," he said after the game. "We'll have to see Monday." The Saints are already without starting nose tackle Kendrick Clancy, who hasn't played since the first game because of a right knee injury. Fullback Heath Evans hurt his right leg late in the game. Re: Any word on Big Sed
well glad too see the both will be ok. i had too much to drink in the land of 3.2 % alcohol to see if either one came back
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
Glad to hear that Sed's knee isn't that serious. It looked REALLY bad on TV.
You guys are right, Hargrove was absolutely awesome today. He really shot his gaps, I was impressed with how quick he was. Stink angers me. |
Re: Any word on Big Sed
hopefully we can get clancy back soon so the rotation wont be stopped.....we might start moving grant back into the middle if we get short handed
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
This team is full of backups who not only have something to prove, but also have the chops to do it. Bell, Hargrove, Evans and Dunbar, Bushrod, the list goes on. Depth is a beautful thing. That said, of course I hope Ellis is not seriously hurt.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
The Saints can survive without Ellis for a couple weeks but Clancy has to be healthy during that time.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
..as long as they are all back in 4 weeks.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
Shame that the Panthers already signed Hollis Thomas :pokechop:

Re: Any word on Big Sed
Where's Coleman?

4 Weeks MCL....Evans PCL

Re: Any word on Big Sed
Glad to hear Sedrick will be OK. It was painful to watch him try to walk. I remember when injuries would change the outcome of the game...however, those days appear to be nothing but a bad memory.

Re: Any word on Big Sed
No one seems to be concerned with Heath missing time. Dude has been a monster at FB and made scoring plays. His blocking for our RBs has been a factor in our new run game. I will be interested to see how his absence effects our run game.

Re: Any word on Big Sed
Pretty obvious there will be some roster moves this week. Saints are sitting on an extra QB and an extra K. DeMario Pressley is sitting on the practice squad, who knows. As a temporary replacement, maybe Hamilton can take a few snaps at FB??? Heck, I say line up Big Zach (Strief) at FB, and please give him a bone!!! Dude has been so great for the Saints he really needs a touchdown!

Re: Any word on Big Sed
Where's Dudley?

Re: Any word on Big Sed
Both Shockey and Thomas lined up at FB/ Hback in second half, and protection (obviously) was much better in the 2nd.
I think Carney might be the numbers game casualty- He got the 2000, and I felt that was what Sean was waiting for. But, JC lives in NO, so he should keep his cell phone handy. |
Re: Any word on Big Sed
I dont' know about losing carney...I know hartley was awesome for us last year but I like having the Veteran back there even though he doeen't have the distance Hartley has
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
With the mad scientist mind of Sean Payton we may see Thomas and Bell in the backfield together with Bush spreadout. Who needs a fullback.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
I think I'm more concerned with the ellis injury. With atlanta coming to townn and that run game, we need to stuff the middle.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
The ellis injury concerns me more. Atl likes to run through the tackles. That could be a major factor.
|
Re: Any word on Big Sed
Don't we still have Obelananialian Somemboleyoleian (SP?) to play FB?
It's not great losing Evans for some time, but the net positive/negative effect of one fullback over another is probably less than any other spot in the offense. Still Evans has been making some big plays. I bet he rehabs in time for that NE game... |
Re: Any word on Big Sed
So does anybody know how long Evans or Ellis be out for?
