Eagles Steal PJ Hill
The Eagles have placed linebacker Omar Gaither on Injured Reserve, and have added running back P.J. Hill from the Saints practice squad to the active roster. Hill, a 5 feet 10, 218-pounder, had an outstanding career at Wisconsin, but was not drafted in April.

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
I liked hamilton better but I don't think we will miss a beat either way.

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
Yeah doesn't make sense. When a player is cut they have to clear waivers to be signed to a practice squad. Once they or on that squad they are actually property of that team I thought. Unless there is more to the story?

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
Well, the rules say we could have stopped them by adding him to our 53 for 3 weeks.
We've done it to other teams. Fair is fair. I wish him luck. |

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
Nope, practice squad players are basically free-agents. The team has a way to keep them, but all 32 teams can sign anyone off any practice squad.

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
Well I guess I stand corrected... Practice Squad players are considered FREE AGENTS and can be signed by other theams. Yes Thanks I even made a quick call to a friend of mine on the Raiders who confirmed this.

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
from my understanding they are basically working on loan.....they get a paycheck from the team but they are not actually on the team......they just come to practice.....they are like reserves
if a man goes down you can call up one of the reserves to fill in.....we had a chance to sign him after the eagles notified the league of the transaction but we didnt so i wish him luck but im bummed about it |

Re: Eagles Steal PJ Hill
Yep, practice squad players are fair game. Can either activate them for the minimum 3 weeks or they are free to move on. Not really a big deal right now for the Saints, could be a big deal if the injury bug hits the position. Pretty nice player, but not better than any of the other RBs on the roster at this time.
