this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm contemplating going to the Skins/Saints game on December 6th in Maryland, but was wondering if anyone else is going? I've never been to that stadium, but am willing to make the drive down from New Jersey if I can ...

Looking ahead, anyone going to the Redskins game in MD?

I've never been to that stadium, but am willing to make the drive down from New Jersey if I can get some good seats without paying a ton. How is the atmosphere there towards opposing teams fans? I've been to Giants stadium a bunch of times and they REALLY don't like outside jerseys........... |

When I use to live there it was fun! I would see the Saints there and against the Ravens. Its fine wearing the opposing team jersey but just don't wear a team that isn't playing in that game!!! I don't think they allow you in to see say the Ravens vs Saints for example wearing a redskin jersey. Fans get ugly and you won't make it to your seats before you get drinks ice food thrown at you from just about everyone.
The funny think is they don't throw the ones doing the throwing but the guy wearing the jersey. |

Interesting fan conduct protocol there. Still I would love to make it there one day. Not this year though.

I'm going with my friend who's a die hard redskins fan. We both live in Norfolk,VA. I went with him last year too. It's a great place to watch a game. We were in the nosebleed section and you can still see the game really well. It's amazing how loud it gets there. The fans are usually cool. Just start up a conversation early and give them sympathy for how jacked up their organization is.
Haven't been to the superdome since I was 7 I think so I can't really make a comparison. But I am moving to Florida near Pensacola off of I-10 and I'm gonna try to go to a home game next year. |

The way things are going for the Skins, come December, you may see half FedEx Field with Saints jerseys.
The stadium is a monstrosity. Even the good seats feel bad. Fans aren't as obnoxious with non-NFC East fans. Parking is horrible and expensive. You'll never see as many adds per square foot as you'll see in FedEx. .. but it'll be worth it to go watch the Saints victimize the Skins. |

We were going to go, but found out we have a family holiday party that weekend that interferes with it.
The seats on Ebay are DIRT cheap, if you look on extremeskins.com (one of their message boards) you can find season ticket holders selling their seats dirt cheap. Just don't fall victim to Dan Snyder's greedy butt by purchasing 200-level seats above row 13 with the obstructed or partially obstructed view. |

I will be there...running my mouth all the way up I-95 as usual. Last year I after Reggie ran that punt back I thought the game was ours. That Santana TD broke my heart lol This year we will exact revenge.
My only regret is the Redskins troubles so far. I was kinda hoping for them to be on the brink of playoffs only for us to march in and take it away. Oh well....I'll settle for a win. |

Yeah I'm from DC and you will have no problem wearing Black & Gold there. Right now The Skins are a mess and most of the fans are booing their own team. From what I know the DC fans are giving up their tickets left and right.
Check Stub-Hub, e-bay, craigs-list etc. I am shopping for tickets right now and they seem to be getting cheaper the more they lose. Euphoria is right you are okay in Baltimore and DC, for some reason they don't hate Who Dats. As I posted before the place that is dangerous is Philly, they hate any opposing team and are very confrontational. |

Re: Looking ahead, anyone going to the Redskins game in MD?
Seriously, I do not recommend EVER wearing the other teams gear in a home stadium. Oakland Raider fans literally pissed on a fan wearing the other team gear at their crib, we all know how bad Philly fans are, even in the Super Dome it can get bad. A few years ago some fans with Rams gear got their a$$es kicked after a Saints game, a good friend of mine had nachos tossed on him because he had Cowboys gear on, and when I was around 16 I almost got it for cheering Steve DeBerg before a Bucs game. The only thing that saved me was the folks around me realized I was a true Saints fan who just happened to like DeBerg... Whoo. LOL
