My View of Monday Night.....
I have tried over and over to understand what it is about the Falcons that keeps this team in the hunt. I've only watched two of their games this season the blowout against 49ers and the late nighter against the Bears. I've come away virtually unimpressed with any particular aspect of the team. I mean I just don't get it.....they have a QB that turns it over, an inconsistent running game and a defense that could use a Jason David upgrade (wait a minute they aren't that bad...LOL). At least last year they had a rookie QB that wouldn't make mistakes and a 1600 yard rusher....so what is it about the Falcons. I've come away with this. The Falcons won't wow you with their statistical production but they will show up and play a solid game.....if you play a good game you will usually be victorious (Cowboys)...if you play average or sub par they can squeeze out a win (Bears & Dolphins).
I break it down like this The Saints have no reason to lose to the Falcons! Except for the dreaded rivalry factor but here's why I don't think that matters....the Saints will be in primetime for the first time this season. The lights will be on and the Dome will have a playoff game type intensity. There is no statistical comparison in the two teams ( Saints far superior in just about every cat.) so I won't do one. I gonna judge this one purely of my gut!!!!! My gut is usually good for the bookey and bad for me......LOL! I'm looking for the Falcons to hold on strong early playing off emotion for some reason I see the Saints settling for a few FG.....I don't know why. But I think the Saints win comfortably 37-17 just because it's gonna take a huge effort by the Falcons to win in Brees' Play House. Lionheart wasn't enough................................................ The Jets didn't fly high enough........................................ And the Giants weren't big enough................................... Overall the pride of the Black and Gold faithful will not let this team lose a primetime home game. Saints come away 7-0 the super talk and the bandwagon continue to grow. WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: My View of Monday Night.....
Nice assessment. The only thing I disagree with you about is them being able to keep the game close at the beginning. I think after the slow start last week that our coaches will have addressed the problems and not allow their blitz packages to get to Drew. What was wild last week is that the Dolphins at times used 1 down lineman and ended up rushing with like 5 LB's and a safety. It was a look that I have never seen.
The Saints will get back to their game plan and take an early lead. We will score early and often and make the dirty turds play from behind. I look for us to pass a lot against their swiss cheese secondary and melt Matty Ice down to a cold beverage. Water and Cheese anyone. lol |

A 37-17 score seems a little bit low...but I could live with that.

I'm giving the Falclowns a lot because they just do not impress me as a football team and for me that's generally cause for concern because if you enemy can't tell your strengths from your weaknesses ( I hope that's spell checked) then how can he beat you. I just hope we continue to show that this is a season like no other....no aints, no paper bags, no blackout...just a team with good coaching and skill enough to match the heart of a truly amazing city!!!!! LET'S GO SAINTS!!!!!

The Saint's intensity has been phenomenal this year. The fact that we finally have a defense that is able to stop offenses has blown me away. I can't ever remember having a D of this caliber. We should melt the Matty Ice and be victorious, I see us scoring over 40, especially with Sharper taking one back to the house AGAIN!! Go Saints, WHO DAT!

Not really sure about your assessment kannon. I'm definitely not going to underestimate the Falcons. These two teams always get up for this game, not to mention that Atlanta went to the playoffs last year and didn't really lose anybody in the offseason.
Right now their running game isn't as successful as it was last season, but that doesn't mean that these guys won't switch it on at any minute. Matt Ryan is still young, but he's a very efficient quarterback. He has 6 interceptions, but 11 touchdowns. He's actually got a higher passer rating this season (90.2) than he did last year (87.7), so I'm not sure why anybody would write this kid off. He's got a HOF tight end target and a Pro Bowl wide receiver. I'm expecting an absolute dogfight tomorrow night. |

Re: My View of Monday Night.....
This game has me pretty torn. On paper, I would have to believe the Saints will jump on the Falcons early and blow away to an easy victory. However, I am not going to fall for that. The Falcons are a very quality team and a very nasty division rival. Honestly, I don't care if say the Falcons were coming in 0-6, I would still be very worried about them.
I do look for the Saints to come out firing the ball, Brees only had a so-so game in Miami, I am sure he is going to redeem himself. Brees has now had 3 pretty iffy type games, time for him to catch fire for good. I also see Reggie Bush having a big game, I really think Reggie is going to show up for this prime time event. Of course, the defense will have to do their part, the Falcons have a very nice offense. Should be a good game to watch!!! |
