.. well, "best passing defense".. I don't know about that. Is that like the Giants were the "best team in the NFL"?

The game in Philly skews that stat by a lot.
The Eagles didn't need to throw the ball. It was 38-10 before anyone could say "opening day"...McNabb got hurt in the 3rd quarter scoring the last TD running the ball... and it was Delhomme who passed for most yards in that game for only 73 (had they counted the return yards after the INTs, it'd have been around 200 )

What the stats don't tell you, is that a lot of points were scored on the Panthers on very short fields after INTs or fumbles.

So, no, "best passing defense"? I don't think so.

.. and as far as "top rushing offenses", well, apparently the Saints rushing offense is doing better.

'Cause the simple man pays the thrills, the bills and the pills that kill

I understand your point, but statistically speaking, yes, the Panthers have the #1 passing offense in the NFL. Their 'points surrendered' is high bc the offense put them in some bad spots. That factors into their ranking as well

And the Giants WERE one of the best teams in the NFL before we stomped them..

Okay.... so what? We still have to find a way to stop the #5 rushing offense in the NFL without Ellis and Clancy.

Bottom line is that the ***** Cats are playing good football as of late. Saints are coming off a short week and two tough games....
