Ugly last minute wins will always be part of winning records... some on comebacks because they played awful the first 3 quarters, some because opposing teams missed field goals, some on lucky bounces of the ball... The way I see it, it doesn't get any uglier than the 2000 Ravens, a team who in the 2000 regular season went 5 games without scoring a TD - and won 4 of those! - and ended up winning the SB. Are you going to be disappointed if the Saints win ugly the SB ? Also, this is not the team that started the 2009 season. They are missing 6 key starters, 7 if Jabari sits next week. Don't you think the absence of Lance Moore and Heath Evans and Jammal Brown is affecting the play of the offense? Don't you think the absence of Kendric Clancy and Sedric Ellis and Scott Fujita affects the play of the defense? Of course it does. But unlike other years, this team is finding ways to overcome them. Why don't you want to give credit to the team for overcoming those injuries and finding ways to win? And BTW, the other team has 11 people on the field as well.. they are bound to make a play or 2 once in a while. Finally, yes, each playoff game matters. BUT, to get to the playoffs, you have to win games in the regular season and, last time I checked, there's no tie breaker or seeding based on pretty wins. |

Agreed! I for one am going to have a good time relaxing the next two weeks on our way to 10-0. Then we need to bring our A game and show the Patriots and Bellicheat who is boss on Nov. 30th.

Giving our injuries sufficient time to recover and plying the next games like it's our last is what will lead us to a SB. And ps. I beleive in the ideathat there is not "UGLY" game because our saints play with heart and that's what matters

Re: 8-0 for the first time!
What's comforting is that the Saints have as many wins at the half way point of this season as they had in all of last season.
Even more comforting is the fact that with one more win the Saints will have as many wins as the NFC champions did last year in their regular season. |
