Safety Darren Sharper added to New Orleans Saints' injury list
Saints safety Darren Sharper missed Wednesday's practice with a knee injury. Saints Coach Sean Payton said the injury occurred during Sunday's game against Carolina, but he declined to offer any specific details. He did say he's optimistic that Sharper, cornerback Jabari Greer (groin) and center Jonathan Goodwin (ankle) will recover quickly from their injuries, though. He also said he's cautiously optimistic that defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis (knee) might be able to get back on the practice field this week, though Ellis did not practice Wednesday. Strongside linebacker Scott Fujita (calf) did return to practice on a limited basis Wednesday. Also, receiver Marques Colston and offensive tackle Zach Strief missed Wednesday with the flu (regular, not swine). Payton hopes they'll return Thursday. |
