Falcons Coach Fined for Sideline Incident

$15,000 to be exact. I'm not a Hall fan and I understand a Coach wanting to stick up for his players but I'm really glad SP has the maturity to not mix it up with players. I just couldn't see him acting like that.

Falcons players will respect Smith for what he did and even pay the fine I would suspect. But our players seem to have a different kind of respect for SP. Respect that comes from intelligence, not brashness. Look no further than Tony Dungy for the best example of what I mean.

You expect stuff like that from players but to see that from a coach is shocking.

Agreed. Brashness makes you a tough team. Intelligence makes you and elite team. And it all starts with the head coach.

More power to Smith!!! I don't think you have to worry about Payton mixing it up with players, he is a little on the small side... LOL

Re: Falcons Coach Fined for Sideline Incident

The other big issue is that Assistant Coach how grab the player and held him and was yelling at him. That really started it aside from the penalty. If that player wasn't help up and allowed to get back into the field of play...

They are over-protective of Matty Melt.
The actual hit wasn't even a hit, more like a shove. If you don't want your QB to get hit when he's running forward with the ball, tell him to slide or not run.

I'd consider it a hit. The defender was full speed an delivering a blow. TOTALLY AGREE with a penalty for it by the letter of the rule ok fine. I have issue with that assitant who grabbed and held him as he had a few words with him.

You may put hands on your players to show or explain something but NEVER do you touch another player on another team. You have no reason to ever. He gets nothing???

Matt Ryan is 6-4 213lbs, Hall is 5-10 195lbs.. a shove
Hall is exactly Rodney Harrison.

The hit was definitely out of bounds and should've been flagged, no question, but is not like Hall speared Melt on the back of the head.

Hall didn't do the late hit. Landry did and was fined 5k. Hall ran over to pull Landry out of there and then the Assis Coach grabbed him, then Smith got into it.

Haynesworth was also fined for coming into it.
