Don's Crystal Ball Week 10 Picks
THE DON'S Crystal Ball 2009 SEASON WEEK 10 PICKS By DonCanabis/TheDon Analyst/Godfather For this week’s Quick Hit’s, check out my Midseason Analysis. Chicago at San Francisco -3 Ovr/Und 43.5 Man, already started the week with the wrong foot… I don’t hate getting a game wrong, I know I will, but when a team does everything I expected and dominates the game and they lose because of a call, a mistake or in this case the dumb decisions of a selfish player it really gets in my nerves…. If I’m feeling like this I can’t even expect to guess how the Bears fans and players feel about Cutler right now. I swear, I thought I was looking at the second coming of Jeff George. Straight: Chi Spread: Chi Ovr/Und: Und Tampa Bay at Miami -9.5 Ovr/Und 44 Should this game be even consider a road game for Tampa Bay?... I swear when I saw the creamy old Tampa Bay Uniforms last week I thought are they mucking their season? What’s more humiliating that being 0-7 it’s putting the uniform that gave your franchise the record for the biggest losing streak in the NFL… The irony of it of course is that they broke their current losing streak with those uniforms. Miami has played very good but somehow have found out ways to lose the games… I expect Miami to take this win however last weeks win against GB had to give some swagger to the Buccaneers so it will be close. Straight: Mia Spread: TB Ovr/Und:Und Detroit at Minnesota -16.5 Ovr/Und 48 Three things worry me about this game; the Line, Favre Groin injury and how well Stafford and Johnson will play… last time they met, Minnesota won in Detroit by 14 with a healthy Favre, Stafford and Johnson, The bye week and playing at home will be a factor you should take Min even with the big line. Straight: Min Spread: Min Ovr/Und: Und Cincinnati at Pittsburgh -7 Ovr/Und 42 If the Bengals win this week they would take a 1.5 game lead over the Steelers and it would be hard to take the division away form them after that… The Steelers knows the importance of this game and having 2 weeks to prepare and at home… expect a tough match both teams want this but I see Pittsburgh taking control of the division again at least for 1 week. Straight: Pit Spread: Pit Ovr/Und: Und Buffalo at Tennessee -6.5 Ovr/Und 40 When was the last time the Titans were a 6.5 point favorite team?... The Titans are coming from back 2 back though victories and it looks like they have found what was wrong with the team… And no it wasn’t Collins. Their defense is playing like ’08 again and their running game it’s unstoppable… if Vince Young continues to play safe and not give the ball away this team has a chance to win a couple more games. I don’t get it but it seems that every year the Bills have half their team injured and compete for the lead on players on IR… Who is their conditioning coach? he should be looking for a new job. Straight: Ten Spread: Ten Ovr/Und: Ovr Denver at Washington 4 Ovr/Und 36 I miss the days when looking at a game against Washington used to meant something, Now it almost means a W for the opposition. Denver is coming from a 2 game losing streak and need this game to keep San Diego away at least for next week’s matchup… Washington hasn’t scored more than 17 point this season but at least since the Bingo guy took over we can expect 17 points each week. These two teams have had trouble scoring so take the under. Straight: Den Spread: Den Ovr/Und: Und New Orleans at St. Louis 13.5 Ovr/Und 50 One thing we can be sure about this week: we won’t have to see New Orleans pull a rabbit out of the hat and come from behind to win this game. Don’t expect an upset if one thing we’ve learn from the Saints this year is that they found ways to win when things don’t go their way…. I’m still waiting for something to learn about the Rams this year. Straight:NO Spread: NO Ovr/Und: Und Jacksonville at New York Jets -6.5 Ovr/Und 40 I think the best Rex Ryan could do to his team is what he did give the guys a break regroup instead of scream at them for 2 weeks… The bye should help the Jets get back on track, Jacksonville might have found the Wr they looked for years in Sims-Walker if you don’t know about they kid look for him and pick him up for your fantasy team. Straight: NYJ Spread: NYJ Ovr/Und: Ovr Kansas City at Oakland -1.5 Ovr/Und 36.5 I wouldn’t go to this game even if it was free.. Oakland had two weeks to prepare for this game but they couldn’t do anything because Cable was held in Court. Kansas City almost wet their pants when the Chargers let Chambers go… if there’s a coach that can make Chambers reach his potential is Healey great pickup. Straight: KC Spread: KC Ovr/Und: Und Seattle at Arizona -8.5 Ovr/Und 47 The Cardinals already beat the Seahawks in Seattle with Hasselbeck by 24 points…. Seattle needed to come from behind to beat Detroit… This team needs to get younger fast two years in a row their season goes to the toilet because of injuries… Straight: Ari Spread: Ari Ovr/Und: Und Dallas at Green Bay 3 Ovr/Und 47.5 Over/Under of how many times Aaron Rodgers is going to get sacked this week is 3….. I’ll take the over. Dallas is playing good if they keep their head grounded they could have a big season… Everyone’s has been putting the fault of the Green Bay’s problems in their defense and oline… But isn’t this the same team that went 13-3 with Favre? Straight: Dal Spread: Dal Ovr/Und: OVR Philadelphia at San Diego -2.5 Ovr/Und 47.5 San Diego took advantage of NY secondary… Philadelphia high power offense was stopped for the second time this season this should be though game with both teams in the chase for a top spot in their division. I just don’t see the eagles going 0-2. Straight: Phi Spread: Phi Ovr/Und: Und New England at Indianapolis : -3 Ovr/Und 50 GAME OF THE WEEK I’m sorry this game never gets old, it’s an instant classic and a must see game… home field advantage is usually decided in this game I only wish the Colts would be healthier at secondary for this match… Peyton is playing light’s out and have found ways to come from behind and win the past weeks; however, NE offense against that secondary will be too much. Straight:NE Spread: NE Ovr/Und: Ovr Baltimore at Cleveland : 11 Ovr/Und 40.5 I thought we had seen Baltimore’s old defense rise up two weeks ago… I was wrong. Cleveland has bigger problems this week than Baltimore some are even wondering why they asked to be back in the NFL in ’99 at least they went out proud. Straight: Bal Spread: Bal Ovr/Und: Ovr The Almost There Picks (27-29) 48% Denver (League) New Orleans (League) Atlanta (League) Dallas New England Philadelphia |
