it doesnt matter what they do in the 2nd half because they have effectively drained our defense by halftime it is not our defense that wins these games....it is our offense.....we cant continue to play like that the next couple games because we will lose |

Again, take off your fan goggles. Can't base a team off one win or loss. Otherwise the Saints are no better than they were Sunday and we know they are better. Cowboys game could go either way depending on what Cowboys team shows up. |

Let's do baby steps here and start with the Dolphins.. So the Dolphins are 24-10 up at half time, 27-17 with 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, 34-24 at the start of the 4th quarter, and as you say they are running the ball effectively the entire game. If that is true, with that lead that late, why would they abandon the run? Don't you want to eat the clock, maybe score at least a field goal or two? |
Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
Look, lets face it. We have just played against some great RB's and we are still winning and so who gives a crap were we are rank as long as we win. Jackson has rushed over 100 yds against Wash ranked 5 and Green Bay ranked 4 and where are they right now in the standings?
As long as we out score them I'm happy. |

what do i have to say for you to understand what im saying? it doesnt matter what they are doing.....we cant stop them so we get down big and have to mount big comebacks that shouldnt have to happen in the first place we cant afford to get down on teams that can compete with us in the 4th qtr |

our closest game to date was the game against the rams which means teams are figuring us out and its not going to take much for the role of winner and loser to flip if we dont figure something out quickly |
Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
I just realized that the Saints never trailed in this game. Isn't that a good thing?

Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
Im happy too.
Injuries happen. You have to have depth, and in most positions, we do. On paper we should beat the Rams 50-0. We've played in Baton Rouge, San Antonio, The Meadowlands, and even England, but we have yet to play a game on paper. The upside is, now word is we're struggling a bit, and that paper may say we're ripe for picking by the Bucs. I think nobody wants to play to perfection more than the Saints themselves, and maybe this week they will set fire to that paper, en route to torching the Bucs. GEAUX! |
Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
Teams aren't figuring us out. We have turned the ball over 13 times in the last 4 games. We are beating ourselves. Period. None of those ballgames were close without self inflicted wounds. All would have been blowouts regardless of the other teams running game.

The Saints are not going down big early in the game because the defense can't stop the run. The Saints are going down early in the game because the offense keeps turning the ball over and the other team gets short fields. |

Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
It is turnover, turnovers, turnovers!!!!!!!!
Colston hold on to the ball we score 35pts and everyone is talking about how we blew the Rams out. We need to protect the ball. It is stopping our drives and giving our opponents short fields to work with. I will take 19 one point wins over 18 blowouts. |

Besides, a good team would have beaten us but a bad would have allowed themselves to get beaten. |
Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
You guys crack me up... this is starting to sound like the Falcon's board.
The game is about match ups, adjustments and finding ways to win. In those 3 areas we have excelled 9 times this year. "The better team doesn't always win"... we may not be as good as some of the teams we have played but we made the adjustments, look for match ups and find ways to win them. |

Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
Straight from Sean Payton's mouth today:
"Having watched all the tape, I thought it was a good win for us to get but it wasn’t always clean. There are a handful of things we will be able to clean up this week and work on. We didn’t have as many snaps this week offensively. We had the turnovers that were disappointing. I thought defensively our second half was much better than the first half. We did a real good job against the run and we got off the field on third down." Doesn't sound like a coach that is too concerned about the Run D to me. Sounds like a coach that understands that the team that controls the ball usually wins the game. |

I can't wait to lose to see how you guys react, lol.

Re: A Good Team Would Have Beaten Us Today.
Let's see..............have us come up one play short against the Dolphins, Falcons and Panthers and all you'd read about is
"The Saints are 3 plays from perfection!!" "If only we COULDA...... "Then if we WOULDA......... "We certainly SHOULDA.......... Those 3 little words are the difference between the WINNERS and LOSERS. |
