Saints have corner issues facing Patriots

New Orleans has some concerns in its secondary, specifically on the outside, heading into the big Monday night showdown against the Patriots.

CB Tracy Porter (knee) is doubtful and unlikely to play for the second straight week, and the Saints listed CB Randall Gay (hamstring) and CB Jabari Greer (groin) as questionable. As result of their corner issues, New Orleans earlier in the week brought back veteran Mike McKenzie.

LB Jonathan Vilma (knee) and RB Reggie Bush (knee) are questionable for the Saints, but Bush is expected to play.

The Patriots listed a plethora of players (21 in all) on the team’s injury report, including 16 who are questionable for the game. The biggest development, though, among New England’s questionable players is with RB Sammy Morris. Morris (knee) hasn’t played since Oct. 25 and could return against the Saints.

Even completely healthy back there, we'd still have corner issues against Moss and Welker.

I think Greer will play so we should be only down 1 starter

Don't let volume of the Patriots injury report fool you at all. A few seasons ago the Patriots were told by the NFL that their injury reports had to be more specific. The following week, for a game against the Colts, not only did the number of players on the injury report change, but it increased to the point where almost 1/2 the team was listed. The Colts answered back by including 1/2 of their team on their injury report. Some of us here in NE take the injury report and never get excited. We just wait until game time. We believe that most of the 'questionable' and 'probable' players will be in uniform and will play in the game. If anyone remembers, Tom Brady was on the injury report for about 4 seasons, listed almost every week as "probable" Right Shoulder, and guess what, that's where he is now.

I don't know how 'legitimate' the NO injury report is, but if it is anything like the Patriots injury report, we will see most, if not all of the best players on both teams playing Monday night.
