Here's a thought...

Maybe the Mayans were right, but off by a few months. The world ends in February 2013, when the Saints finish a perfect season exactly 40 years after the last one. I know it's just something pulled out of the air and probably out of line but I found it humorous and thought I'd share. You may commence the beatings. |

The end of the world is only going to happen when the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. At least, it will be the end of my world, because it will happen when I am 97 years old and will have a heart attack right after.

Re: Here's a thought...
I was thinking more of a result of the Saints getting the perfect season. We win the Superbowl this year. And if you toss in a repeat in 2010 or 2011, we're looking at a Saints dynasty. Something we KNEW would NEVER happen.

Re: Here's a thought...
i've always said the day they win one will be BY FAR the greatest day of my life, but, i always figured i'd be at least in my 40's or 50's before i saw it. i turn 28 on saturday, so, all this seems so surreal even right now.

You still have 6 games left in the RS (including tonite) and then POs. There are no guarantees in the NFL. On any given Sunday, or Monday in this case, anything can happen. The Patriots won 3 SBs in 4 years and most all Patriots fans (myself included) began to use the word "Dynasty" after the 1st SB win and we were lucky that the Patriots continued to win. It's a great feeling, believe me. But let this year play out first before you start looking at potential success in the distant future. Your team deserves all the accolades this season that you are currently receiving. If you win tonite I will be here tomorrow to extend my congratulations, and if the Patriots win I will be here tomorrow, not to gloat (it's not my style) but to again extend my congratulations for a game well played. Best of luck tonite (I'm sure that the Patriots will give your team all they can handle) in probably the game of the year (and a potential SuperBowl Preview) for the teams, the NFL and ESPN. |
