Could it be the 2nd half?

Just wondering if the difference in this game could be the 2nd half. It appears that the Pats love to score early and often in the first half, and then the show slows down in the 2nd half- which as we know happens to be where the Saints get rolling. If this game is close in the first half- is that the secret to our win?

Re: Could it be the 2nd half?

Oh and not to post a response here, but a lot of people think the game will depend on how our secondary handles Moss and Welker. I don't think many teams can handle that duo- so I think we win or lose it up front. SE, WS, and CG better come to play, and dominate.

Re: Could it be the 2nd half?

Per ESPN and NFL.com the Pats are the number one scoring team in the first half and we are the number one scoring team in the second half.

I think you can take any number of stats and make a story or projection out of them. But this stat is about as straight forward as it gets. Nothing is guaranteed but if it's close at halftime, look for something special to happen in the 2nd.

I'll go on record as saying when I look back on my life one of my regrets will not being able to go to this game. This game could echo for seasons to come. It's that serious. WHO DAT!!

the secret is to not go down 3 TDs in the game.....if we are only down 2 scores at any time in the game we are still deadly

against the Pats that's true.
Of course, I sat in the sweltering heat watching us go down by 21 to Mia, so who knows?

The over/under is 57 points. That's huge in any NFL game. In other words, don't turn off your sets.

I think if we keep it reasonably close in the first half, we'll be good. If we get a decent sized lead early, it's over.

Gregg Williams calls his game very very well in the second half. Sean Payton has the offense clicking by the end of the first half. If things go our way in the first half the Patriots are going to have a long night because I believe GW is going to give the Patriots offense fits.
