Tackling - Its killing me! I have noticed though, its not just us. The fundamentals of wrap and roll have gone out of the window like an 8-track, even at the collegiate level. If you get either leg-and roll with it, even the biggest back has to go down. I love to see someone's mouthpiece get twisted; I get as excited as the next guy when someone gets flipped heels high, but the number of missed tackles just makes me cringe. Short 2-3 yard gains turn into 17 because we pop a guy, lay down, and the runner forgets to fold like a chair. Or the first guy on the scene goes for the strip instead of the tackle - let the second guy try to shake the ball loose. Greg Williams is high on turnovers, and our numbers are way up with him at the defensive helm, but I know he hasn't traded in form for fashion. We have gotten away with a lot of stuff this year, but I hope we clean that up soon.
