The only reason Jared Allen has the number of sacks he has is because he played twice against Green Bay. I think it was 7 1/2 sacks on Aaron Rogers. The more I see the Vikings and their softass schedule, the less I worry about the Saints possibly going into Minnesota for a playoff game. |

I'm not taking anything away from the guy, because I do think he is a top notch DE and demands a double team most of the time, but he is hit or miss. In comparison, Will Smith has had only four games were he didn't record a sack. He has blossomed the last 5 games by getting to the QB at least once and totaling 7.5 in the process. Allen has gotten the majority of his sacks in spurts and has only recorded more than one sack in three games. Smith has been more consistent with his, and has recorded 1.5-2 sacks four times. Take away the two Green Bay games, and Allen's line looks mediocre. |
