From an insider source, it appears that we will part ways with Reg next year. At least a 75% chance he will be traded.

Can't say I'd be shocked.

I appreciate Reggie's big play ability as much as anybody else here. But IIRC he is scheduled to make 12 million bucks next season. For that kind of scratch we can get Pierre and Evans locked up on long-term deals and sign a really good free agent.

I doubt it. Not because it's not possible or plausible. Just because of the mysterious insider source you're referring to. If we could trade Reggie and pick up value in his place, that would be awesome, though I like Reggie. But an insider source? Uh, no.

I am not really sure what the Saints could expect in a trade. Oh well, lets get this season over with first and we can worry about this in the offseason.

If all else fails the raiders will take anybody, they gave a first round for Seymour. Guy is in his 30's! Plus Reggie would be where he wants to be, LA - not La.

This is from a person that works for the organization, not some reporter. Hell I worked for them last year and will do so again starting next years training camp. Im just trying to shed some light on whats going. I could give 2 sh!ts if you believe me or not. The people here that know me know that the info that I recieve is usually correct. Bye bye.

Its obvious we dont need him to win, but I am going to be pretty sad to see him go after everthing he has done off the field and his big plays on the field, hopefully we help him get a ring if he is leaving. He deserves that.

I understand that you know a lot about the quality of B-Dub's info. Heck, you both have been on the board since November! I totally respect your opinion on his info.

Let's get the Lombardi first and worry about it after that.

Frankly, my biggest worry is that with his contract / salary status, no team will want to trade for him, knowing that if he is unwilling to renegotiate his deal that we would be forced to cut him loose and then he'd hit the open market.

I'd consider a mid-high 2nd round pick for him or perhaps a pass rushing DE or young LB.

Do you know the difference between market speculation and insider trading?

Look, that Reggie could be traded or released or forced to renegociate next year isn't news. Regardless of how one feels about Reggie, anyone who follows the Saints knows he makes too much for his production and has knee issues, so pretty much anyone knows it could happen. I'm sure everyone would be thrilled to see that money go to Sharper/MM/Vilma/Brees/Moore/PT/Bell extensions, the future of the cap notwithstanding.

The writing is on the wall and after Monday nights game Reggie probably knows that he is going to have to restructure his contract with Mickey Loomis and the Saints. He is still valuable, just not as valuable as his contract. I like what he does for this team and I want to see him playing in a Saints uniform next year.

Why? Heck, I still have many old jerseys. Joe Horn, Morten Anderson, Sam Mills and even Ricky Williams. Why would someone want to sell a Reggie if (and that is a huge IF in my opinion) Reggie was to leave?
