Did some research for lunch on the waiver system and found this. The rule is below but it basicly says if a player with 4 or more years experance is cut between the start of the waiver period and the trading deadline(mid oct.) he isa free agent. Lets go sign Milloy NOW!!
ARTICLE XXII WAIVER SYSTEM Section 1. Release: (a) Whenever a player who has finished the season in which his fourth year of credited service has been earned under the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle Plan is placed on waivers between February 1 and the trading deadline, his contract will be considered terminated and the player will be completely free at any time thereafter to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with any Club, and any Club shall be completely free to negotiate and sign a Player Contract with such player, without penalty or restriction, including, but not limited to, Draft Choice Compensation between Clubs or First Refusal Rights of any kind, or any signing period. If the waivers occur after that time, the player’s Player Contract will be subject to the waiver system and may be awarded to a claiming Club. However, if such player is claimed and awarded, he shall have the option to declare himself an Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of the League Year in question if he has a no-trade clause in his Player Contract. If such player does not have a no-trade clause and the Player Contract being awarded through waivers covers more than one additional season, the player shall have the right to declare himself an Unrestricted Free Agent as set forth above at the end of the League Year following the League Year in which he is waived and awarded. (b) Whenever a player who has finished less than the season in which his fourth year of credited service has been earned under the Bert Bell/Pete Rozelle Plan is placed on waivers, the player’s Player Contract will be subject to the waiver system and may be awarded to a claiming Club. |

One last sentiment on this Milloy thing. I understand that secrets need to be kept from whoever about offenses and defenses and not put out in public. However I think the Saints need to go after this guy loud and proud and show us that they are at least trying to give us a Super Bowl team. At times this bunch acts like the CIA, where if they tell us anything at all they have to kill us. Some of us fans have been waiting for a Super Bowl team longer than most of these players have even been alive. Come on Haz and Loomis give us something to cheer about. Before some of us are too old to enjoy the game, or die trying.

HAHA im a saints fan for long time i\'m imune to heartache it\'s more of a heartburn now lol...but i\'m still there cheering or cussing because it\'s my team and I support them win or lose i enjoy watching them and reading about them and the only thing that would really put a bad taste in my mouth would be if they moved from NO..if they did that i probally would quit watching football...the saints are the saints and i remember when they sucked so bad that OMG it was painful to even say that was my team but now they contend and that is a definate plus that makes my time i spend watching them on sundays much more enjoyable...thats all that matters to me
and as long as everytime i hear about them on tv i turn it up and sit in front of it like a 5 yr old or whenever i get that uneasy/excited/unsure/happy feelign before every kickoff and think of how many times they they have given me sundays of happiness where nothing else mattered cept watching my boys or how soemtimes they fold at end of games or seasons i remember this is a team i have spent last 25 yrs watching..watching players come and go and the excitement of getting a quality player well THIS IS THE EXCITMENT I LOVE WOOO HOOO SAINTS HAHAHAHA WOO HOOOO later sorry to ramble haha WOO HOOO SAINTS SUPER BOWL ALL THE WAY BABY |

Wasn\'t this guy a pro-bowler last year?
Has anyone stopped and asked \"why?\" Why was this guy cut? It claims differencing of opinions on contract negotiations, but you don\'t just let a pro-bowler who is in his prime slip from your grasp, unless the city in which you play starts with the letters \"N\" and \"O\", of course. :P Belichick is not an idiot. Publicly Belichickis saying this was purely a salary issue. I agreee on face value it does\'nt seem to make a lot of sense form the Pats side unless there is something we don\'t know . I can\'t see any negatives to makeing this deal and because he was cut is\'nt much of a reason not to talk to him.
