Leaky rush defense? We gave up under 100 yards rushing today and were playing without our 2 starting CB's and our starting strong side LB.

Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
Yeah the MIGHTY Vikings got the crap kicked out of them tonight. The Saints are a great team. As in ALL TIME GREAT. Sorry pal, but you should watch the whole season before you open your mouth and sound like a complete moron.

Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
Guys, I'm speaking from experience here,
Don't let other peoples stupidity get the better of you. When the Patriots won their 1st SB many opposing fans and bloggers said the same thing, that the Patriots were not as mighty as they 'pretend' to be. Every year since, the comments abounded that the Patriots would not be able to go better than 8-8. Although this season they just might , it's been 10 long, successful seasons. When someone makes statements like this one, ignore them. Getting yourself upset does nothing positive. Let the team speak for itself. I guess I'm saying that, when your team is on the top of the pile, expect the opposing fan bases, and most of those media 'experts' to do nothing but attempt to find all the negatives, truthful or not, and it's only because they are jealous of your team's success. The hardest time you will have will be to hold back on your responses to them. If you don't respond, they will eventually go away. I also remember that there were too many victories in all those successful seasons that wore PatriotsNation down. Whether you win by 20 in an easy game or squeak out a win at the last minute by one, it's still a win, and that's all that counts. Good luck. Continue on. |

Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
"They have given up 30 points to both the Dolphins and Redskins, conceded 20+ in eight games, and increasingly rely on their quarterback or turnover-happy defense to win them games."
----And this is bad? Relying on the rest of the team to win games? "Even worse, it appears they have barely been tested: Wins against the Eagles, Giants and Patriots are the best pelts in the Saints' collection, but none of those teams have fewer than four losses." ----Um, 8-4 is a pretty good record, and they would be 9-3 if they had beaten us They have a host of players on their second or third teams on this unit (Darren Sharper, Jonathan Vilma, Scott Fujita, Mike McKenzie, Chris McAlister) ----does this make sense? Sharper & Vilma are not starters? Last one: This run will end, probably at the hands of a more powerful Vikings team in the NFC playoffs, but it will be exhilarating until the last second. ----I hope the Vikings like jumbalaya and zydeco. C U down here on the 24th |
Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
why is it no one ever remembers the teams records at the time we play? I think the only teams that had losing records at the time we played was Bills, Rams, panthers, Bucs, and Redskins(off the top of my head). Someone else can look it up but I don't even think any of the other teams we beat had more than three losses at the time we played them. NFL is a copycat league and the Saints have beaten most opponents by double digits. If you were a head coach and had to play a team that the Saints beat wouldn't you be watching that film? Wouldn't you do what worked for them? Wouldn't that give you a better chance at winning? Would that make the Saints less of a team if you did win?

Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
12-0
All that matters. :) |
Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
He brings up points that worry me a bit. Hopefully we will get everybody back for the playoffs and this won't be an issue. All of these other teams have weaknesses that can be exploited too.

This article was clearly written before Minnesota got owned by the Cards. Too late to revise now!

That is so true. We Saints fans have not experienced this type of success ever, so we are much more used to people/the media laughing at us rather than trying to find the proverbial chink in the armor. It almost reminds me of the NFL draft: the media spends the last weeks of the college season hyping up their darlings, then the spend February to mid-April destroying them. |
Re: Saints exciting but they won't last...
We played with the starting corners out and two "new" corners and a rookie. Fuji was out and it was a muddy field. That is the ONLY game like that we have to play this year. He seemed to miss that point. Most injured team in the NFL is 12-0..stick that one in your cap Bub.
