Saints Can Clinch First Round Bye Sunday

And in the process, knock Atlanta out of the wild card race! (All of the NFC East teams that are in the mix own the tie-breaker against ATL)

The NFL just sent out the playoff scenarios for this weekend and the NFC South news here is the Saints have a chance to clinch a first-round by Sunday.

It can happen one of two ways. The first is very simple. A win or a tie in their game in Atlanta will do the trick.

If the Saints don’t win that game, they still can clinch a first-round bye. But that would take a Dallas loss or tie, plus a Philadelphia loss or tie, plus either a loss or tie by Arizona.

As far as clinching home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs, the Saints can't do it this week. But they've got a two-game lead on the Vikings.

side note: i'm hope the Bengals bring their A-game to Min. Sunday.

We really do not have a 2 game lead.
Minnesota has the tie-breaker, so if we were to go 2-2 and Minn won out, they would HF throughout. If we go 4-0 or 3-1, whatever they do does not matter.

True but The writer, Pat, was just saying the official lead was 2 games. My feeling are screw all that, we're going all the way so it doesn't matter.
