this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Anyone think that besides the bad play of CM, and KE- that Payton is a little pissed about how that defense played, or GW is, and they are sending a message that you better pick it up or you will ...

Re: Just wondering, see what ya think
perhaps but the end of the season is not the time to be playing with the active roster
he is cutting players that dont have big impacts on the games mcallister was alright as a fill in and im thankful...im sure payton and co is thankful as well...he did well kyle eckel wasnt a huge part of the offense anyway....he was an emergency option at best after we plugged david thomas in.....i wanted eckel but it was obvious why he was let go i hope it lights a fire under some of the players but i dont think they should fear for their jobs in week 14 of a 17 week season |

McAllister was part of the Def team that shut down the Pats 2 weeks ago, and he forced the OT fumble and recovered it in OT against the skins. I don't know if that's the guy I cut. Jus' sayin.

the only play he has made of significance is a fumble in OT which was almost too late and shouldnt determine whether he has played well in coverage or whether he will continue to play well in coverage i trust in the coaching staff to make the right decisions....they are doing a good job mcallister was the odd man out....porter, greer, gay, MM, and jenkins were just better |

I didn't think McCalister moved well at all. He looks shot to me. The fact that McKenzie grabbed more playing time than him despite coming in a week later tells me that the coaching staff may have thought the same thing.

Re: Just wondering, see what ya think
Because of how things have turned out so far, any moves that are made I trust 100%. In fact, not just because of how things are so far. In general too, as I am here writing stuff on message boards and they are there observing and taking the pressure. I think we should all have faith in decisions they make. Maybe 1 or 2 will go wrong but I'll still be Black and Gold no matter what.

Re: Just wondering, see what ya think
the best point in the post was that none of these guys see significant time. The guys we cut weren't with us long either

Re: Just wondering, see what ya think
Credit that to the Redskins. They had us so worried about stopping the run our DBs were looking for the run. Cambell would then drop lobs on us that you just can't defend against. To top it all off that field favored the offense.

Re: Just wondering, see what ya think
Plus I saw the Gary Gibbs staple of a 10 yard cushion a lot during this game. I saw it some in the Pats game too. I understood it for the Pats but the Redskins. I guess the field took away a lot of GW's aggressive style
