This is how I feel
First- I mean this: A win is a win is a win. It is not easy- even playing the Lions every week to win 13 games in the NFL, and we have. It doesn't matter how you do it, it only matter that you score more at the end. Playing on the road is far from easy, and we did not play well the last two games, but we won, and I mean it when I say I could care less about anything else. (minus injuries- they matter)
Our defense is hurting. I think that, and mainly because this is such a team game, that our 2 CB's out is hurting our D all around. I think it probably makes us a little less aggressive, and also probably hurts our safety play. These guys learn each other, and right now, where Sharp and Harp are concerned, they are playing with guys they are not completely familiar with. Also there clearly is a step down in talent level. There are two things that I matter most right now, and they go in this order 1. Greer, Porter, and Fuj need to get healthy, and be ready for the playoffs. Hopefully play in a game or two before the week off. Get back into shape and be ready to go. 2. we need HFA. I want to win 2 more games (1 if Minny loses), and get HFA. Minny lost both their games on the road, because it is hard to win on the road. So I am not terribly terribly concerned about the D, yet- yet. If we get our arses handed to us at home like the last two weeks- I am going to be worried we might not get HFA. A win this Saturday, and I believe HFA is ours! Anyway just what I think- Enjoy the win today guys- I am! |
Your team stinks

Winning doesn't have to be pretty... just ask the Ravens when they won the Superbowl. Our safety play as you pointed out, has been struggling of late. Sharper isn't by any means young... I hope we start rotating Young in once we clinch home field throughout so Sharper can have fresh legs for the playoffs.

My recollection is that we are to get some starters back for the Dallas game. Hope that still holds true, we need to start looking like a deep playoff team. It would be very disappointing to be a one and done team in the playoffs after such a good year.

We are looking slow and plodding the last two weeks on both sides of the ball. i think the pressure's getting to them, and they're all afraid of making mistakes, and of course, they're making them by the boat load. Confusion is too often apparent before each snap, and the opposition looks well briefed on tendencies. We need to get healthy quickly.

True that the D has looked shaky and that can't continue deep into the playoffs, but we used to LOSE these games.
I think we'll be OK once we get Greer/Porter/Fujita back. Until then, we just need to stay 1 game ahead of the Viqueens. 2 more wins = HFA no matter what they do... |
