Why do you HATE the Cowboys?
 

I think everybody here (whodats) has their own list of reasons for hating the Cowboys. So when the Cowgirl nation stumbles to our site let's define for them why this game is so important to us.

1) I'm sick of the Tony Romo drama. He's not an elite QB, he's done nothing deserving of all the attention he gets in the sports media.

2) Jerry Jones is the Nancy "stretch" Pelosi of the NFL. He's an idiot with money. Who else would build a stadium with a jumbo video screen in the middle of the stadium and never once consider the fact that maybe it interferes with the punting game? Doofus!

3) Obnoxious Cowgirl fans. Yes, once upon a time the Cowboys were America's team, whatever, but that title retired with Roger Staubach.

4) When I watch the NFL network I see the star panel of of former Cowboys Deion Sanders and Michael Irving, aka; Dumb and Dummer. Did you know Irving picked the Cowboys to go to Miami this year back during pre-season? What a biased idiot!

5) If you watch the Saints on FOX on Sundays, we're forced to listen to Troy Aikman; the dumbest former-pro game commentator I've ever heard. Another product of the Dallas soap-opera.

I can list others, but I wanta hear your reasons for hating the Cowboys.

I don't really hate the Cowgirls like I hate the Falcons, Bucs and Panthers. And I like listening to Aikman. So I can't participate. :(

I honestly don't hate them. I just don't respect them. And no one is really disillusioned about them in the media, except a few ex-cowgirls that you mentioned. Most writers call them exactly what they are, a good regular season team that can't win consistently after Nov.

Classic case of all talent and no leadership from the owner to the coach to the QB. I reserve the hate for the teams that threaten us year end and year out.

side note: I don't know if Mike Smith could have poked his fat lower jaw out anymore than he did yesterday. I laughed so hard at his angry gesturing. Really glad we have a coach that keeps it together on the sideline and has class.

The very reason why I turn down the sound on the TV and turn up Jim Henderson and Hokie Gajan on the radio. There may be a 5 to 15 second delay, but it's better than listening ad nauseum Troy Aikey-Breakey and Joe Huck-A-Buck. Pam Oliver is the only one I can tolerate. Man, she's fine!!

the cowboys are a team like the yankees.....no matter how good or bad they are, they still get a lot more attention than any team in san francisco or seattle or oklahoma city or cincinatti

that is why i hate them.....not because of them.....because of what the media makes of them......same reason i hate brett favre, the patriots, red sox, and yankees

The Cowboys were a class act in the 60's and 70's with coaches like Tom Landry and the adoration of a nation. That slimy Jerry Jones changed all that. I feel for their fans who are as loyal as the Saints fans have been. :argue:

I hate the Cowboys for some of the same reasons I hated the 49'ers and Steelers.

They're a team with a great history, loaded with stars, and get calls in their favor that other teams don't get.

Thats bad enough, but when some talking head says they "should" get away with it because they're stars and have earned it, I want to vomit.

I hate teams that benefit from biased officiating. Its one of the main reasons I now despise the once great NBA.

And ditto the sentiments about media coverage. An 8-8 Dallas team gets as much coverage as most 12-4 teams do. Not quite as bad as Yankees/Red Sox but pretty close.

I'm sick of NFL and ESPN's love affair with them.

Did any of you see the Eagles/Giants game last night? It was ridiculous!!! They were talking about the Cowboys through the entire game. You'd think the Cowboys were on the field, playing.

I also notice how after my team beat them yesterday... all they're talking about is what the Cowboys did wrong instead of giving credit to the Chargers for the win.

agree'd. Tom Landry was a
good guy, so was Staubach, and even Don Meredith. Landry, in my book, actually wrote the book on clock management, and play calling, hence their reputation for comebacks.

But I hated the Cowboys as a kid, because their fans dissed my Oilers back then. I felt the same way when I was older, living in the Shreveport area--- "How can you live in Louisiana, and wear Cowboys colors???"

Also I hated the way CBS seemed to root for them. I seriously disliked them in the '90s when they were the Crack-Wagon, and thought Michael Irvin was the most obnoxious player in history.

The media is just a bunch of parrots now, so I dont care who they love.
I think Romo is a good guy, believe it or not. He cant help it if there's a camera in his face 24-7. The dumbass media is apparently unaware the Boys havent won a playoff game in over a decade. I like Romo, alright.
Wade Phillips is a great defensive mind, and has been for years, but I think he lacks the celebrity look a Cowboys coach should have. I think Jerry Jones is the reason the team doesnt win. He needs to get his a** off the field, and get out of the way.

But I dont really hate the Cowboys anymore. I have numerous friends who root for them, and really, considering their recent suckage, it kind of
takes a die-hard to be a fan of theirs now.

But I want to crush them Saturday night for the sake of our faithful Who Dat brethren in Shreveport, and all of NW Louisiana.

I have no particular hatred for the Cowboys (unlike many on here).

The Cowboys used to whip up on the Saints when they (Cowboys) were good. That's what good teams are supposed to do. The Saints have now turned that around and have won the last 4 (or 5) between the teams.

I do recall one game in Dallas when Bum Phillips was coaching the Saints, and Kenny Stabler was our QB. The Saints led 20-13 with about 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter; and were in field goal position. Morten Andersen came in to attempt the field goal, which was blocked by Dallas, and run back for a TD. 20-19 Saints, pending the PAT. But the PAT was blcoked; still 20-19 Saints. Dallas kicks off to the Saints, who could not move, and had to punt back to Dallas. Danny White (Dallas QB) moves the Cowboys all the way down the field, inside the Saints 10, then throws a third down pass into the end zone, which is intercepted by Saints LB Dirt Winston. Instead of taking a knee, Winston runs it out, and is tackled at the 2. Next offensive play, Kenny Stabler is tackled in the end zone for a safety, 21-20 Dallas. which is the final score. It is the only time in NFL history a team leading by one point, loses by one point due to a safety.

I didn't hate the Cowboys for that because, frankly, it was the Saints fault.

leads us to a 21 pt. lead. Who Dats are owning Texas Stadium. Boy's fans are leaving. Todd goes down at the end of the 3rd Q. In comes the Snake Stable Horror Show. We blow 21 pt. lead & lose in OT at 1 oclock in the morning. 21 point choke in 4th quarter. Saddest drive
ever back home, and you know thats saying a lot. Stable retires.

Of course, was it '88? Cowboys in Dome. MNF. Morten kicks the miracle 50 something yarder w/ 2 seconds, and runs around the field. The Cowboys Curse is exorcised. I am a one-man-riot in my house.
I can still celebrate thinking about it.

Texans believe that Louisiana is simply a large county of their state. For that reason alone. It has nothing to do with the crass need to supersize everything from their stadiums to their lips to their innertube sized 32" belt supported blubber beer guts. Nor the Id based outlook on life. "Look at me I'm famous" is the state motto.

Its not the Cowboys, its their fans. Fair-weather fanatics that are hard to find until they eeak out a win. They were dominant at one time...but not lately, and they'll pull out the history book on ya. They're nasty when they win and even nastier when they lose. Not even once, in our recent meetings, has any of them given Saints props for spanking that a$$, not even once. I hope we tap it royally Saturday night...give them another opportunity to give us props. I hope this is the biggest blow-out of the year; a signature win; released on DVD to hand out as stocking stuffers.

uh uh, Xanny. You cant put us all in that box. For starters, I wish I had a 32 inch waist! I see Louisiana as my state's prettier sister, who belongs to a sorority we cant join--- The Deep South. While its true, I do drive a pickup truck and own guns, I dislike Jerry-World as much as you do. And while we're talking "mine is bigger," do remember the first thing the world heard about the Superdome--- "It can fit the Astrodome inside it." glass houses, bro.

Anyway, the Big Tex image you might have (some of my friends are cowpokes--theyre not bad guys actually) is a thing of the past. 90% of everybody here is from Mexico.

Nevertheless, lets all hate on the Cowboys this week, if for nothing else, for the way they have sucked this year. Lets put em out of their misery.

Please allow myself to introduce.... uh? myself. Born in the Heights, here. Think of it as a poorer version of the Garden District. Its actually quite cultured & historic, for Houston. I am the last person in the world to be from Houston. There is nobody else.

Man, Cowboys fans here always had to diss the Oilers.

I lived in Midland, TX when the triplets (emmitt, aikman, irving) were winning superbowls in the 90s and had to deal with their annoying fans kids that would talk trash to me damn near every week didn't help that I had a teacher that had to rub it in after a Saints lose. Doesn't help that their fans think its their birth right for the cowboys to be in the superbowl thanks to ESPN's 24/7 coverage of the most overrated team in sports today

After last season, the Princess of Irving (Texas Stadium) wanted to be detonated. Now, "Jerry World" (Cowboys Stadium) has a retractable roof and a giant curtain so the Big Guy won't have to see this mess that "Uncle Jerruh" made out of this team.
