Re: Anyone think...

To hell with the cable companies & the NFL Network.

It is the desrie of both to make more money than God that causes this problem.

I have Brighthouse & according to them (take with a grain of salt) the NFL wants to attach some type of stipulation on getting the NFL Network that some (many??) cable companies are not willing to do.

SO who suffers? Us the fans.

I have a lovely adjective for them both BUT it isn't very appropriate.

You can watch NFLN games on NFL.com. They even have people giving extra analysis and stuff during commercials.

Unfair to the cable companies?
Cable companies want the NFL network, but they don't want to pay for it. They want to get for free what DirecTV pays for, so they can take customers away from DirecTV. They want their cake and eat it too.

why would the NFL, put one of the most hyped games of the season, on a channel that reaches roughly 30,000 TV's???? THAT doesnt make sense....

They want you and I to rush out and buy direct TV before the game starts. Money, Money, Money! I bet, if the information can be found, that Direct TV sales the last two weeks have skyrocketed. But not by me.

NFLN allowed the Pats/Giants game to be played at the end of the Pats undefeated season due to the fact that the Pats were on their way to make history. Why wouldn't they play the Saints game for that very reason?

It plain stinks.

..maybe because this coming game is NOT history making?

What I've gathered from reading much commentary over the past couple years, is that it's because they want everyone to run out and pressure their cable provider to offer NFLN. Cable companies largely have not picked up the station because of the per-user fee that NFLN demands. It's out of line with what other channels charge the cable companies.

I did read, I think on the Saints site, that it will be shown on WGNO 26 in the N.O. area.
I'm over in the FL panhandle, and I have Brighthouse... guess I'm going to Buffalo Wild Wings Saturday night.
