Saints depth chart.........
Just wondering if anyone has looked at the new depth chart?
http://www.neworleanssaints.com/depthchart.cfm If 1 or 2 people get hurt we're in a world of hurt. Terrell Smith, bad back and all, NO backup? no real back up running back? 1 backup at defensive tackle?(Ford is hurt) 2 special teamers backing up at safety?2 Rookies backing up the offensive line? This scares me. I didn't even realize this till a few minutes ago while I was just looking around. What do ya'll think? |

Saints depth chart.........
well Terrell Smith is great to have in there blocking but we could do without if we need to. They gonna sign Carter anytime now to backup Duece. Defensive Tackle, we could use Willie Whitehead in the middle if we need. Safety worries me still. Offensive Line, we can shuffle it around plenty, half those guys starting can play mulitple positions. We will be OK as long as T-Buck doesn\'t get bit by the injury bug (knock on wood)

Saints depth chart.........
I\'m not worried. Even with both starting defensive ends we would still be able to field a decent front four. The rookies on the offensive line can probably get in without losing too much.
All injuries will make a team worse. There are two injuries that could kill us: Deuce (but we knew that all along) and Tebucky (and it\'s just unfortunate if you lose two players at - roughly - the same position. What will the Redskins do if they lose 2 quarterbacks?). My gut feeling tells me no major injuries for the Saints until week 8. |

Are you just trying to stir it up? FB?-we use a FB on about 1/4 of our plays. Conwell could easily fill in, as well as Houser. Can you say 3WR sets? Or 2 TE\'s? DT?-Whitehead and Smith can both play DT. We are 4 deep Safety?-the one position where any decent DB can stop the bleeding. Harper, Craver, Hawthorne Gleason all have experience at Safety, at least enough to not kill us if disaster does strike. OL?- My goodness, we\'re deeper than 25 teams. Folau can play LT, RT,LG,and RG Jacox can play C, LG,RG and probably RT, Holland can play LG and RG Alexander can play LG,RG and RT if necessary. Stichcomb could play a decent RT with double team help or a TE. Most teams would kill to be this deep. The only place I sorta\' worry is #2RB, but vs Seattle, we can destroy their DB\'s without Deuce. Even with Deuce out, we can score 30 points on this team if necessary. One of the few match-ups this year where Fenderson might look pretty good. |

No I\'m not trying to stir anything up. I\'m also not a 2 year old. I know plays are designed to have certain players in them. Looking at the depth chart, if we get 1 or 2 injuries in the wrong place, it hurts. Last year we had problems changing a game plan in a game when we had the players on the roster. This year for some reason we don\'t seem to have the players. I know we have the same number of players every year, but not in the same places. I\'m just concerned about it. I\'m sure you don\'t have a problem with that.

I\'ll give you the safety spot. If Jones goes down, we in heap big trouble. But I just don\'t see any other position thats not stocked with a quality back-up. Maybe not an A or B player, but a decent C player. At least as well stocked as other teams. Mitchells injury was definitely unexpected and does send up the red flags at that position. But I think we\'ll see a veteran sign soon. We\'ll sign a RB and a Safety. I wonder who\'ll get cut then? |

That\'s cool. I got no problem with somebody disagreeing with me. Hell, I might even be wrong. It just worried me when I saw how thin we are at some positions. I agree with almost everyone here that as far as our starting unit on offense at least we are as strong as anyone in the league. It\'s just when you have NO backup or one that can\'t even hopefully get the job done, it worries me, as I think it would any fan. For those of you that think I\'m giving up on the season, I\'m not! I just look at things in a realistic light. Injuries happen and they hurt.
