Ellis Misses 2nd Straight Practice.
By Mike Triplett, The Times-Picayune
December 17, 2009, 1:59PM Two players missed practice for the Saints on Thursday -- defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis (knee) and cornerback Jabari Greer (groin). The severity of Ellis' injury is unknown, but it's not a good sign that he has missed two days of practice this week. Greer will certainly be out for Saturday's game against Dallas after having sports hernia surgery last week. On a positive front, four players returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday after sitting out Wednesday -- kicker Garrett Hartley (hip), tight end Jeremy Shockey (toe), offensive tackle Jon Stinchcomb (knee) and defensive end Bobby McCray (back). The remainder of the injury report stayed the same. Receiver Lance Moore (ankle, hamstring) and tailback Mike Bell (knee) practiced fully. Ten other players were limited -- tailback Pierre Thomas (hip), guard Jahri Evans (foot), guard Carl Nicks (back), offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod (thumb), center Jonathan Goodwin (ankle), cornerback Tracy Porter (knee), safety Usama Young (hip), linebacker Jonathan Vilma (knee), linebacker Scott Fujita (knee) and linebacker Marvin Mitchell (hamstring). In Dallas, meanwhile, linebacker DeMarcus Ware missed practice again Thursday, leaving him in serious doubt for Saturday's game. *According to ESPN.com Ware did practice today. |

Re: Ellis Misses 2nd Straight Practice.
We really need him on the front lines winning the battle. He has a huge impact on the running game and will be missed this weekend if he's unable to play. Fujita getting healthy should help tremendously.

Re: Ellis Misses 2nd Straight Practice.
Did Ellis leave the ATL game or is this carry over from a few weeks ago? Hopefully it's just precautionary.

I want sed to play to, but if resting him means better chances for the play offs, then so
be it. This is an important game, but NOT THAT important. Get sed well for january. |

Fujita is doubtful, Porter and Greer are Out, If Sed is out it may get ugly.

With Barber, Jones, and Choice... I hope Ellis will be ready by Saturday. We're going to need him if we expect to contain their running game.
