this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I have two complaints about the national media. I am just curious if others are of the same mind... 1) N'awlins -- good grief!!! All these TVguys trying to sound like they are from the nint ward... They excuse themselves ...

Getting it right....
I have two complaints about the national media. I am just curious if others are of the same mind...
1) N'awlins -- good grief!!! All these TVguys trying to sound like they are from the nint ward... They excuse themselves saying that's how locals call it... But, hey they always say Baltimore, not Bawmer or Balimer... and Chicago instead of Chicaga and they never sayToranna and Bawston.... They sound awful... especially those announcers who think they have to somehow have Mississippi drawl to it, for some reason... Try to do it like they the local TV folks: New Or-lee-uns... easy. (Note: If you listen attentively, you will notice that while the particular way someone says New Orleans may very according to neighborhood, schools and such, there is always an R in it.... something that is always missing when foreigners try to sound kewl... and ends up sounding like the couillons they are. 2) Origin of the name.. Even the damn official NFL site tells this cute little tale of, since they were created Nov. 1.. blah blah blah.... Hey, they were the Saints long before that. In fact, when Dave Dixon had the Oilers and Patriots play an exhibition at City Park Stadium in 1962, they passed around pencils and season-ticket card with SAINTS written all over them.... Dave Dixon named the Saints... and the announcement was made on November one because of that, not the other way around..... |

Bothers me too. Terry Bradshaw even mispronounces New Orleans.
On another note, does anyone else dislike Skip Bayless as much as me? I get the taste of vomit in my mouth when I hear his voice. |

Skippy also took up for Mercury Morris. He picked us by 3 TD's to jinx us. How does he say New Orleans? New England
