Favre thinks that the NFL should revolve around him. I respect what he has done and the records he will leave, but aside from that I'm not a fan. I'm easy going but Favre and I had a run in at a bar some years back....his posse kept him from stepping outside. Anyway, let them implode.

Re: What do nyou make of the Viqueen controversey?

Now, they are saying that the problems started weeks ago, because favre has been changing
play calls in the huddle, and at the line of scrimmage. No wonder Peterson hasn't been getting
as many touches as he's used too.

If any other QB in the league, short of the big 3, (manning,
Brady, Brees), were doing this, I don't think ESPN would be backing him. Head coach, is head coach
I don't care how old, or who u are. Favre might run teams, but also has the ability to run them
into the ground.

Childress wanted to pull him because he thought Peppers was going to break the old man's hip.

He holds every freakin record at the position, and unlike marino, has a SB ring to go with

was less of a d!ck about it.
Don't you mean by the way the media portrays him??? C'mon man, none of us knows what really goes on behind closed doors. ESPN only feeds on the bits and pieces of what's thrown to them...

The guy only wants to win football games.

To say they were "misguided" I think is a stretch. They didn't have a solid QB the past 2 seasons, but they were hardly a bad team.

The reality is, Madden created Farve the living legend, and frankly, he is not. And because of this aura of being a living legend, people are quick to dismiss things like his tantrum last Sunday, and coaches treat them with kids' gloves, as it was the case with Mangini last year with the Jets, and it is now with Childress in Minnesota.

Childress is no dummy... he saw the pounding Prima Diva was taking, and knew, even if Prima Diva walked out of the field, that pounding was going to affect that 40-year-old body in future games. What Childress should've done, is put his neuticles back on and tell Prima Diva to sit his ass. But noooo, how can anyone dare to go against HRH?

But, hey, what better Farve than a hand-shaking Farve throwing INTs in December and January, uh?

But Favre made them a playoff team/superbowl contender and that's all that matters. Do you think anyone in Viking land had that kind of confidence in Tavaris or Sage??? That's why i say "misguided".

And tell me exactly how Madden made Favre one of the most prolific QB's in the NFL? Did he pad his stats? Did he block for him? Catch his TD passes??

Look, we all know Favre is a guy who wants to win and I'll admit he basks in the lime light long enough to get a 3rd degree burn - but Childress LOVES what he has with Favre at QB. The guy plays with passion and YES that can be bad sometimes. Child's job is to control that and he probably should have hired a full time nanny.

Agree that Childress should have nutted up and benched his star.

Well, didn't the Vikings go to the playoffs last year?

In re: Madden - I am not talking stats. I am talking the way Madden found a way to mention Farve every single time he had a microphone in front of him, and how he saw everything Farve did as "heroic". Hey, he was the Packers' QB who brought back the Lombardi to Green Bay, the play of everyone around him notwithstanding.

The numbers, when you play that long, you'll get the padded numbers, eventually. But his records are only indicative of how long he's been playing. Granted, that he has been playing 17 years in the NFL is on itself a feat, although 11 years short of George Blanda's record .

There are some records, though, he never got close to, and he never will, like Marino's 5084 yards in a season, or Brady's 50 TD passes, or number of SB rings. If you check this link to NFL passing records , you'll see his name is only associated with records that would take time to accumulate.

I never cared much about Farve, but I really started disliking him after his comments when Aaron Rodgers was drafted.

'Cause the simple man pays the thrills, the bills and the pills that kill
