Bonfire on the river
My buddy from back home sent me this picture message from his cell phone this morning so forgive the quality. It is a fleur de lis bonfire built by the Gramercy Fire Dept. This is built with nothing but logs. He says there is also one built in the shape of a helmet in Garyville. He will try to get me some better quality pictures. I think this is pretty dam awesome.

Re: Bonfire on the river
Here are a couple better pictures. I strongly recomend if you have the chance to drive along River Road from Reserve up river to Grand Point you will be amazed with all the bonfires built every year for Christmas Eve. And for those of you who don't know, this has been a tradition that goes back about 100 years. Building bonfires along the Ms. River to light the way for Papa Noel.

Re: Bonfire on the river
I used to live in Reserve and the fires are a great way to stay warm on a cold Christmas eve while welcoming Papa Noel. I love the Saints theme...we didn't have that at the time.
