While cornerback Jabari Greer (groin), defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis (knee), tailback Reggie Bush (hamstring) and tight end Jeremy Shockey (toe) returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday, a handful of other players sat out with new ailments.

Safety Darren Sharper missed practice with recurring soreness in the knee that sidelined him for one game last month. Receiver Lance Moore missed practice with an injury to his other ankle (not the same one that sidelined him for more than a month). Linebacker Scott Shanle missed practice with a concussion that he apparently suffered during Saturday night's game at Dallas, though Shanle returned to finish that game. Cornerback Usama Young missed practice with both hip and abdomen injuries. And cornerback Randall Gay missed practice with the concussion that knocked him out of Saturday's game.

Greer's return was encouraging, just two weeks after he had sports hernia surgery. Although the Saints certainly won't rush him back before he's ready, Coach Sean Payton said the recovery is going very well.
Twelve players were limited in Wednesday's practice - Greer, Ellis, Bush, Shockey, offensive tackles Jermon Bushrod (thumb) and Jon Stinchcomb (knee), guard Jahri Evans (toe), center Jonathan Goodwin (ankle), tight end Darnell Dinkins (foot), linebackers Jonathan Vilma (knee) and Scott Fujita (knee), defensive end Bobby McCray (back).

Re: Wednesday Injury Report

mmm well that list is bad. I might have to stop wishing for 6-0 in the division and wish we were deeper as a team. We need to get deeper and faster.
