this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; We should have gone for it on 4th down. Everyone know's it. What's done is done. Time to move on to the Panthcunts. We will win that game....

Nervous times for SP. Only 1 of 2 ways to go.
Pull this team back to where it was at the Pats game and make an impression in the playoffs OR Flunk, and we get the age old label back and SP is in real trouble because the only way out is a stunning playoff run regardless of the regular season record. |

I think Payton made the right call punting on 4th and 1. Morestead was punting awesome all day up until that punt and the return for TD.
I have more of a problem with offensive playcalling - Saints mixed the run/pass well, but need to get more creative. Never seemed to catch the Bucs off guard. |

Re: I blame it on Sean
4th down is the down designated to kick the ball
whether it be punting or field goal attempts......4th down is designed for the offensive team to win either the field position battle or to score 3 points in the NFL it is stupid to assume that 1 yard is so easy to get.....especially when you see teams go entire games without scoring any points......if yards were so easy to come by then teams would go for it on 4th down nearly every opportunity they have.....but the reason they punt is because they know that they will have another chance and they will have to capitalize on it or battle for field position yet again its not a punishment to punt the ball......its a reward to the defense for the team having such a bad showing on offense |

Re: I blame it on Sean
Payton has seemed to be off lately with his play calling. I wonder if he is just being too cautious about opening up the play book this lat in the season.
