Everything these two just said. REAL fans don't "check out" when things get bad. If you've been a fan this long, two losses in a season of 13 wins shouldn't bother you. smh

Negativity or reality???

You are no more of a die hard Saints fan than anyone else on this forum.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like one, guess what??? It is a duck.

Today's game is not the product of a championship caliber team or that of one worthy of a 13-2 record.

Black and gold glasses or not, playing like this WILL cause our season to end in heartbreak.

I don't think anyone is planning a bonfire with their Saints gear, but reality IS that the wheels are coming off of the Saints Superbowl Express. And we ALL want to see the Saints do more than just MAKE the playoffs -especially after a 13-0 start.

We better make some big time adjustments and come out smoking AND play 4 complete quarters from this point forward.

"Well as a true die hard saints fan i can proudly tell you who are giving up to KICK ROCKS. BYE BYE we don't need negativity in the WHO DAT nation. Ok we loss two games. Where u here for last season? we didnt even have a win streak. I'm here for life. Good or bad season. I had good times because of this team. You know at first this game kinda made me mad but listening to this crap kinda made me get over it. Thanks quitters "

Hmmm, Who's quitting? I'm not... I'm not only a TRU FAN OF THE SAINTS... But, I am also a trun fan of REALITY.. Any loss hurts. I want to see them boys go out and win every damn game.. The problem with some of you guys is that you have grown so accustomed to loosing that you find a positive in ANYTHING.. There is NO positive in today's effort. We should be celebrating HFA right now.. We blow a lead to a 2-12 team at home.. NO EXCUSE... We're 13-2... SO WHAT.. It dont mean isht if you're going to crap it all away at the end.. I HOPE we pull it together.. But as of the past 5-6 weeks we have been looking really SUSPECT.. If we play like we did the first half of the season, WE ARE UNSTOPABLE... Thats what pisses me off the most.. I know we are capable of BETTER PLAY. I'm not settling for mediocrity... Lets act like winners.. MAN UP SAINTS...LETS GO!

Re: Anybody else about ready to pack it in?

Good post Soldier504.

That's why everyone is so mad about today. We are seeing a pattern of poor play over at least the last 4 games.

Can we right the ship and become dominant again? Sure!

But anyone who doesn't think the recent play of the team is very concerning and that we could have this magical season flushed down the crapper is fooling themselves.

In the end, WE ALL WANT THIS TEAM TO WIN IT ALL.

Some of us are just not liking the cracks in the foundation that we are seeing and are afraid it is all going to come crumbling down on us...

Re: Anybody else about ready to pack it in?

I can't really relate to what's happening right now. There have been very few seasons when we knew we were in before the last play of the last game. The fact that we are already in the playoffs is, IMO, accomplishing goal number one. Goal number two is getting to the SB, and goal number three is winning it.

HFA, #1 seeds, etc., are nice, but just getting there is an accomplishment that we haven't experienced too many times in 42 tries. I'm not even sure if I would want to sit at home and not have a Saint game to watch, so if we don't get the HFA, the silver lining is we don't have to sit on our thumbs for a week.

Enjoy what's happening...it is rare. The excitement doesn't crank-up again for me until the playoffs...and I fully expect the dominant Saints to return. If they don't...well, then I'll have a little more to say but I just have to let it play out before I can get excited.

One thing I can say for sure is that I am extremely pleased with the season so far, loss to TB or no, and I am very much looking forward to a playoff season that will include my beloved Saints. For that, Payton gets another year.

Hell no. The playoffs haven't even started yet. We didn't make a playoff appearance from '67-'86, and have only made 2 this decade. No way Im packing it in

We won 13 in a row, what makes you think we can't put together a 3 game win streak and win it all?

Hell no, I ain't packing it in, for what? To wait until next year? **** that

Too many seasons have ended without us being in the playoffs. I cherish every appearance.

I think we have all felt like quitting this gig (Saints fandom, that is). But most of us keep coming back anyway, hence my signature line.

Then I will totally understand what you are saying here.... Come on Pak, back up your post here....

yes im serious... we lost.. its one game.... yes im pissed as hell just like everyone else but its just one game... it just so happened to be to a 2-12 team.. big deal.. its not the end of the world just b/c a loss came to the bucs....

we also almost lost to the hapless redskins.. i didnt see anyone imploding after we came back and won that game.. why.. oh... b/c we WON!! we havent been playing good football but that doesnt mean that this team isnt capable of playing great football.. we have seen it multiple times this year.. and we have also seen some terrible games this year as well.. every team has bad days.. its hard to win any game no matter the records.. just look at the raiders.. u never know what team will show up when they play.. they have beaten some really good teams this year... and then they have lost to some really bad teams... point is.. on any given sunday... well u know the rest...

Agreed, although at this rate it could be game one of the play-offs.

I find it funny these "fans" can survive everything else with the Saints over the years and then want to "pack it in" in Week 15 and being 13-2. HAHAHA! My soul may be tortured for the rest of my life by this team but atleast I've came to terms with it and will not have my fanhood questioned. Suck it up, it's football

I'm sick of this abusive relationship and this black cloud hanging over my head for four months every single year.

You can only take so much. How's that saying? "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

I've just done the same thing over and over again for too long and I'm near the breaking point. My dad gave up on them years ago. He was a lot smarter than I ever gave him credit for.

Like I said, I'll stick it out the rest of the season, but I just am ready to be done with all of this. Win a Super Bowl, or end another season in misery. Either way, I'll be glad it's finally over.

Re: Anybody else about ready to pack it in?

No way I'm giving up on the Saints. That's not an issue.

But it's frustrating to lose a very winnable game due to a lack of effort and execution. Now granted, I've never played a down of football, but I saw inconsistent effort and a lack of hustle on every position, except for perhaps QB and RB. If something was not broken in the Saints locker room after the game then there is something wrong with this team.

The Bucs are good, but let's face it - the Saints D let a rookie QB barely old enough to drink and a coach that could pass for his old brother go 98 yards downfield for a touchdown in the SuperDome. The Bucs are not spoilers - the Saints are the spoilers - we had the game in fridge, then left it wide open after the first quarter. Now everything's rotten and we gotta start over.

Also, I'm tired of the injury and fatigue rationale. I just saw Kobe play 97 minutes in 2 days with a broken finger on his shooting hand, when other NBA teams are going through the motions in December. That is how you win and repeat. I know this is not the playoffs yet, still Saints need to man up ASAP.

It is funny to me that I was thinking to myself earlier this year "after 19-0 won't any other season seem meaningless?" Now there is no such worry. :-D

I've never heard such blasphemies from a "Saints fan." I moved to North Carolina in 2006. But do I want Carolina to win next week? **** no!!! and when I graduate and move away, I'll still love the Saints!!!!

In fact it's only just begun.

AMEN to that, pathetic, wimpy, loser mentality is all it is...

I'm just a novice, so pardon me if I say something wrong here, but WTF?

In the 2001 season, the Rams finished 14-2 and and went on to the SuperBowl (which they lost by a field goal) the Saints finished 7-9, but they (Da SAINTS) were the first of only 2 teams to beat the Rams in regular season!! Do you think the Rams fans were all doom and gloom because the Saints ended their undefeated ranking of 6-0?

Give me a break. I'll start packing when they cut my oxygen off at the nursing home.

Wanna know the stats on every game since 1919? See how many times really good teams got checked by really bad teams but still came ahead in the end?
Check this out. Some of those early ones the scores were a hoot!

Tampa Bay in 2002, on the way to their Superbowl victory, lost twice to the Saints.

The Saints finished 9-7 and no playoffs.

Tampa lost 4 games that year.
