You Gotta Have Faith . . .
I just had a fellow Sants faithful tell me that they are going to be alright you just have to have faith. I told him "I have faith or I would not have taken what I have taken for 42 years. But it takes more than faith to take you to the Super Bowl. The team that played the last two weeks DO NOT have what it takes, it is something more than mere faith."
Faith is what keeps coming back year after year only to be disappointed in the end. I am not giving up on them . . . I am a Saints fan today, will be tomorrow, next week, next year. It just hurts me and my fellow faithful that have lived by faith. I saw this year as a year of vindication for 42 years of living by FAITH ALONE. Faith is not going to take us through the playoffs to Miami. This was the one year we would not have to say "wait till next year'". I am just a realist . . . the team that came from behind @ Washington and Atlanta and lost to Dallas and Tampa DOES NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES as that team is playing by faith. |
Hey Goodell . . . This year we will kick ass for free!

Faith. Are you serious? I have been a fan of this team since before most of you were born. I have seen bad, and i have seen good, or what I thought was good at the time. Faith only goes so far, and then reallity kicks in. It doesn't matter who you beat, or by how much, during the season, it matters how you play to close out, and by how much you win during the POST SEASON. We are losing to crap teams, while contenders are beating teams by double digits. I really want to find one of these optimistic, glass half full fans, right about now. I really do. Please, come to NorCal... PLEASE come here.....

Re: You Gotta Have Faith . . .
I completely disagree. I haven't been watching the Saints (or even been alive) 42 years, but I've been watching them a long, long time. This is not that same Saints team. Old Saints would have lost ALL the close games, not just 2. So, OK, this isn't the best NFL team of all times like we thought 4 weeks ago. But neither is Minnesota (don't tell me our lost is more embarrassing than their last week), Philadelphia (remember the Oakland game?), Arizona, or Dallas. We don't have to beat the Undefeated Dolphins, the 85 Bears, or the Steel Curtain. We just have to beat an choke prone Cowboys, an undermaned Eagles, &/or an aged Farve or Warner. Far from impossible with a much less talented team than we have. Now, the Colts or Bolts? We'll figure that out in February.

Re: You Gotta Have Faith . . .
I've been a fan for 25 years, I came out the womb a Who Dat.
Living in South Dakota these past few years, I've heard so many people tell me "Of all the teams you could root for, why the Saints? Why don't you pick a REAL team to cheer for?" I still have Faith. Even if we don't make it to the big game. I will NEVER root for any other team over New Orleans. Even when they let me down. It's my personal opinion and NO ONE is going to change it. Thanks. |

Re: You Gotta Have Faith . . .
I became a die hard when I realized how much I hated bandwagon fans. They would come in to the Footaction I managed and ask for whatever teams gear was winning. It was fun during all the elway days of the broncos when all we sold was bronco crap and im wearing all my saints gear and I got to talk crap to every customer who was a bandwagon fan.....well it still is,
We sucked when I was a fan 15 years ago. We sucked when I was a fan 5 years ago we sucked these last two weeks and im still a fan...but we suck |

I'm not even going to answer this tread... I mean come on.
The large majority of people posting here are faithful and that's it. We're not talking about this year to the Superbowl faithful; we're talking about people who login every spring for draft info or follow the Saints when they are not even competitive. If you don't think the Saints are going to make it through the playoffs this year, I can respect your opinion, but if that rattles your "faith" in the Saints that you're not going to cheer for them, then you're just weren't a fan to start with. Sorry |
