All about Matchups.. What say ye?
Ok.. we've been playing like crap for thew past 4-5 games or so... However, we know we are in the playoffs and have a first round bye... No matter what happens this Sunday... With that being said, I beloeve football is about matchups.. If we can get back to beginning of the season form, who do you thyink we match the best against? I personally think that we can beat anyone... BUT, I think Philly would be easy work for us... Here is why
1. They rank 21st in rushing... At best their running backs are decent. Not to worried about Westbrook, I honestly dont think he will be the same.. 2. Desean Jackson.. Stop him from getting the big play.. Not a possession reciever. 3. Donovan Mcnabb, personally dont think he is that accurate.. Not as mobile as he once was(Romo creates time in the pocket, was very impressed, ugh damn cowboys).. 4. We torched them once, we can do it again.. Second, would be Dallas. I honestly think that we would beat them 9 out of 10 times... Worry about Green Bay ALOT.. They can run the ball and they have a solid quarterback with recievers. Defense is pretty good as well.. Arizona is pretty good too but I think we match well against them... Minnesota would be dangerous but I looks like Favre is crapin it away.. I hope it continues.. Adrian Peterson isnt producing.. Man, but we do have problems witht he run.. hope we can get it together... Overall.... Green Bay seems like the hardest matchup in the NFC,IMHO... Far as Super Bowl.... I dont give a damn what anybody says... The Colts would be the toughest(even though I think Chargers are playing good football now) Colts could match us point for point.. Thier defense looks better than ours.. |

Rodgers holds on to the ball too long.
The Saints can beat any of the other five NFC playoff teams if they are playing well. |

GB runs well but it's spotty and I think we can create turnovers against anyone. Minnesota will be lucky to escape the divisional round. Just wait and see. |

you dont feel that way about philly, GB, or arizona? All 3 have big play ability on offense and defenses that are much better than ours. personally, i think the one team we match up against best right now is the one team we wont see for sure; minnesota. they arent putting up points and their D hasnt been the same since henderson broke his leg.

Nah, I dont think Philly,Arizona, or Green Bay are very explosive enough to match our offense when we are playing at OUR BEST... The only offense that I believe can match ours when we play at OUR BEST is the Colts... I'm a Saints fan to the bone but you gotta respect how those guys use Dallas Clark... Freakin amazing.. I still believe Philly would be easy work.. I thihnk Green Bay would be one of those shocker teams.... But, we'll see.. I really do believe we will have HFA... Our boys will get it together...

Mike Martze just said on NFL network that Green Bay is the most Dangerous team in the NFC..and i tend to agree...they scare me..He also said he wants the Saints in the superbowl ..that it would be good for the NFL..He went on to close out the segment saying our D has slipped really bad and we will have to outscore other teams in the playoffs...i agree with his assesment..

I think that if the same saints that played the patriots show up in the playoffs we can take any NFC team

While I do think that a win over Carolina will greatly help them get back into it, I think it may not be absolutely necessary. Beating the Panthers will do a few things. 1) clinch HFA regardless of what the Vikings do. 2) Get the players mentally ready because a) they'll have beaten a team that was getting hot down the stretch, thus improving their confidence that they CAN still win games when they need to, and b) they'll know that they'll have the Who Dat Nation behind them throughout the playoffs, which we all know is stacking the deck when the Saints are on their game. and 3) show the rest of the league that we're still a force to be reckoned with. Anyway, regardless of the outcome of next week, the Saints will use the bye week to mentally and physically prepare themselves for the final stretch. (If they lose to the Panthers, SP and GW will likely set the grass at the practice field on fire and tell the offense and defense to go at it.) With the rest of our big playmakers coming back into the lineup, I think the team can come out in the Divisional round and prove why they are the #1 team in the NFC. *deep breaths.* Okay. I'm done. Sorry that got hard to follow in a few places. |
Saints fan since he watched them play from his crib.
