Saints/Colts Perfect Season Final Thoughts
Can you imagine, what's going through the Colts minds right now? "Our GM, cared more about most wins in a decade, and most consecutive regular season games, than letting us do something, that only one other team, IN THE HISTORY of the game has done."
I especially love how Polian said "We", those are the records that "We" cared about. Yeah, I could totally tell, by the way the players were giddy with laughter, and hugs on the sideline, after they got pulled out of the game on Sunday, how excited they were about getting those two records out of the way. Yay, "WE" did it! Honestly, if I am a Colts player right now, I can see how I am looked at, in that organization. I am a paid employee, and that's it. I have no say in things that mean anything to me here, because they don't care. Seriously, Polian treated every member of that team like hired hands, when he came out and gave that press conference. If you don't believe me, go back and watch it. You would think that he was coaching, and playing, and gm'ing at the same time. I gotta tell you guys, one thing we can say, for the rest of our lives, even if we never get close to a perfect season again, is that win or lose, we tried! Yes we lost to the Cowboys, but we tried. Did we play our best game, no, but we tried. Did we pull our starters with a lead? No, we tried. If the Colts DO win every game, from here on out, including the Superbowl, one question will remain with each and everyone of those players for the rest of their lives..... "What if?" |
What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....

Re: Saints/Colts Perfect Season Final Thoughts
Yes indeed, the Saints did try, just came up a little short. The Colts, no excuse for what they did Sunday. They had a very legitimate chance at running the table and making history. For the life of me I do not know why they pulled Manning and the rest of the key players. This stuff is once in a lifetime type of opportunity.

Well, after his smug press conference, I don't even think the coach made that call. I think it was Polian all the way. I have a strong feeling had it been Dungy, he would have stood up to him, and said this is what my players want to do, and they've worked hard enough this season, to deserve a try.

The bolts have their number in the playoffs .... (I wanted a perfect season) thankfully the pressure of a perfect season is off the Saints and now they can prepare for the playoffs with at least one less distraction
