Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
Why does anybody even pay attention to this moron. He doesn't usually have anything useful to say. What he does have to say is usually negative or racial. I'm sick of Jason Whitlock.

Sports media are mostly fickle and only know how to react....like a lot of fans:)

I don't see how we could have lost any games that mattered and still come out as number one seed. It would appear to me that we won all of the games that mattered up to this point. |

Every game a team plays in the regular season contributes to them making the playoffs and their playoff seeding. It's a rationalization to think that because the team didn't actually win the week that HFA was secured that securing HFA wasn't valid. By all accounts the Saints should not have won either the Miami or Washington games, but they did. By all accounts they should have won last week. But they didn't. The order of the record isn't important. If it were then only December wins would determine if you get into the playoffs. Wins in September, October, and November are just as valid. And in those months the Saints secured 13 wins to secure HFA. It's all water under the bridge now. It doesn't matter how you get there. It only matters what you do when you get there. And just to reiterate, "there" isn't what happens tomorrow. Whether the Saints win or lose, sit players or play them, play well or not, nothing about tomorrow's game is relevant to the overall discussion or goal. Tomorrow isn't a must win, a statement game, a "get the MoJo back", or whatever. It's completely, absolutely, and irrevocably irrelevant. The only game that matters now is the one that happens the weekend of January 16th. The one that the Saints secured by winning 13 games this season. Which to remind everyone is a feat that this organization has never accomplished in its history. The goal of any NFL organization is to win every playoff game it is in each season. Playoff games are the only relevant games now. You only play regular season games to get into and get seeded for the playoffs. The Saints are already there. SFIAH |

Seriously...when it was all said and done...we did what we needed to do to be the # 1 seed. Disecting how we went about doing it is a little ticky-tacky, IMO. It's something we've never achieved before, so therefore, I am going to be proud of it and give them the benefit of the doubt on these last few games that, in the end, proved to be meaningless. |
Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
Jason Whitlock is the Skip Bayless of internet 'reporting'. He never actually reports anything, merely spouts stuff that will peeve off people to draw attention to himself.
Sadly, more often then not, it works...just like Bayless. |

Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
Re: #5: He's justified to feel that. As much as we believe the Saints will regain their top form for the playoffs, they have not shown anything in the last 4 games to make a non-Saints fan believe.
Edit: not ranking Drew Brees #1 or #2 is absurd, however. Philip Rivers and Chris Johnson cannot compare to what Brees has accomplished and the leader his is. |
Re: Check out what Jason Whitlock thinks about the Saints
I don't know about absurd. Statistically speaking, they're all neck and neck... each has outstanding numbers. If you were to measure individual importance, they each mean everything to their team. Now Johnson being a running back, maybe... just maybe you could downplay him some due to Brees and Rivers both being quarterbacks... but that's all subjective to one's preference.
