Mark Brunell will start Sunday for New Orleans Saints; Drew Brees will be third QB

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think the old gun got a few bullets left. Watch Brunell pull it out! And this guarantee Brees gets the pass completion percentage record, right? The other sliver lining, defense needs MAJOR practice playing without a 3 touchdown cushion. ...

I wouldn't count on Brunell having even a decent game. I'm more interested in seeing what Chase Daniel has. I don't care if the Saints finish 14-2 or 13-3, but I would like to see the Saints beat Carolina with a practice squad QB!

Well to be fair the Panthers are on the backup QB as well.

Ahh, but he was a backup turned starter, not a PS rookie with no NFL experience. Not to mention he (Moore) is better than Delhomme.

Interesting perspective.

Brees undoubtedly is upset by the decision to put him at No. 3, behind Mark Brunell and Chase Daniel, against the Panthers. As a reader points out, Brees wears No. 9 in honor of Ted Williams, who opted to play on the final day of the 1941 baseball campaign, putting his .400 batting average at risk. (Williams finished with a mark of .406.)
