With all due respect, I think you're missing the point a little.
He's saying that the attitude of the town is too closely tied to the fortunes of a football team. Having a winning team is great, but it doesn't solve the rampant socioeconomic problems that have never been addressed, even before Katrina brought those problems to light. I am not "hating" on New Orleans. I am a frequent visitor and I love the town. Many landmark moments in my life have happened in New Orleans. But let's not pretend it's perfect. |
