Does anyone else feel like our run D played better today?
With the exception of the 2 big runs. Seemed like everyone was getting to the ball, gang tackling, etc. Fewer missed tackles this week I believe. Jabari makes quite the difference as well.
Also, keep in mind: heading into the playoffs the year the Colts won it all, teams were running all over them. Everyone stated they'd be one and done, that their run D was suspect at best. They all stepped it up, and raised the Lombardi at the end of the year. |

Also, just my opinion, but with Drew in today we would have won handily. All of those sputtering drives would have resulted in points for us.

Believe it or not I was saying the same thing earlier today. I thought the tackling and fundamentals were much better this week. I also think if our starters were in there we would've had a great chance for a victory (Carolina didnt show me much). But yes, the defense definitly showed that there's light at the end of the tunnel!
Come on boys! You got 2 weeks to prime up! Geaux Saints!!! |

Re: Does anyone else feel like our run D played better today?
from what i saw the D line got a great push on most instances and kept stewart in the backfield. As was said, with the exception of the long run this was one of the better D performance from the last month.
On the backup QB front, i'd be very happy with chase daniel being the permanant backup, think about it - if anyone saw how dominant he was at missouri they would know. PLUS!! he has the same attributes as brees, not the tallest guy, but moves his feet well in the pocket and most importantly he is accurate. (sounds uncannily like brees doesn't it) If theres anyone that can teach a young QB how to work with the attributes he has, it is a seasoned veteran who has gone through the exact same thing. Ladies and gentlemen - we have that in brees!! |

The D did show up for the game, and they played pretty well. They were getting tired toward the end of the game though. The offensive line also played better. Brunell had lots of time to throw. If Brees was in today, he would have picked Carolina apart!

They were tired because they couldn't stay off the field. I was cringing every time brunnell took an 15 step drop and let one of our receivers out to dry because he was late or didn't have enough arm 4 the throw. But yeah I was happy with the defense for the most part. Much improved.
