arguably the greatest QB in the history of the game is playing during an era where there are possibly 2 other top 20 QBs of all time and they will never get the same respect

does anybody remember who the other heavyweight champions were before ali, during ali's career, or right after?

i can name a few off the top of my head because i follow boxing.....but i fear that drew will be the greatest QB in the history of the NFL to never get the respect he deserves

congrats to evans and sharper tho

curious how adrian peterson made all pro when he was 6th in rushing and only led the league in 1 single category......rushing TDs

same argument can be made about peyton manning....how did he beat drew?

Well...he beat Sonny Liston to become the champ...and before Sonny there was this guy I remember named Ingomar Johansen or something like that and there was Rocky Graziano and Joe Louis. Afterwards, names like George Foreman, Michael Spinks (sp?) or his brother Leon, and of course Tyson (see sig)...and then Buster Douglas shocked the world when he knocked out Tyson. Need I go on?

Larry Holmes and Ken Norton were a couple that popped into my mind, too.

i was really talking about the guys immediately before and after

guys like floyd patterson who is my favorite boxer of all time, rocky marciano and larry holmes and john tate

guys like spinks....i dont think his name was michael but i cant remember what it was(leon.....i had to look it up).....were champions during ali's career

michael spinks wasnt champion until nearly 10 years after ali had retired

the point is that its much harder to think of great QBs that played during the johnny unitas era and peyton manning era because they were both so great.....players are forgotten much easier when you have to compare them to all time greats just like boxers were

that is where i fear drew's numbers and importance to the league will be forgotten
