this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I know not everybody here appreciates what the offensive line does....but just watching the highlight video you can see what makes our offensive line one of the best in the league for all the grief i give bushrod and goodwin ...

Offensive/Defensive Line Highlights
I know not everybody here appreciates what the offensive line does....but just watching the highlight video you can see what makes our offensive line one of the best in the league
for all the grief i give bushrod and goodwin there were several plays where they got their job done perfectly NFL Videos: NFL GameDay: Cardinals vs. Saints highlights the first play is at :39 seconds Goodwin's man jumps up in the air to attempt to bat a pass down and goodwin does exactly what you are taught to do....he attacks his man in the air and knocks him on his butt......executed to perfection at :53 seconds the touchdown run was huge Jarhi Evans has to step down and seal the hole....not only does he step down, but to the left of the screen you can see him throwing his man like a toy at 1:11 the fumble recovery by sharper caused by gay Will Smith beats the left tackle bad and a split second longer would've been a sack.....but the real play was made by sedrick ellis splitting the double team and getting a no call on the hold....without getting held, ellis would've easily had a sack 1:44 the TD pass to shockey Jermon Bushrod, who has struggled most of the season, finally gets it right.....he picks up the DE and pushes him inside but the DT runs a stunt to the outside....earlier in the season bushrod would've followed his man inside....this time he did exactly what he was supposed to and picked up dockett on the stunt and threw him to the ground helping give drew enough time to find shockey 2:07 was the screen pass to devery easily the worst effort by the offensive line in the entire game....not one of them finished the play except for David Thomas who cracks back and knocks out 2 defenders that could've made the play 2:30 was Reggie's TD run The drive by Carl Nicks out in the open to push his man out of the play was huge.....not to mention the fact that jahri evans never gave up on the play and followed nicks up with a nice block of his own to seal the run......but the unseen hero of that play was lance moore who held his block throughout the entire play including a bit of holding....but it was lance moore who sprung reggie free 3:03.......kim kardashian 3:08 the INT by sharper that got called back you can really tell how good will smith is on this play....he just beats the LT like a drum and they did exactly what i said they needed to do.....blitz to warners front side to create the 1 on 1 with the LT and Smith and they executed it perfectly |

Good stuff Canton, I too like watching the big uglies.
Nicks and Evans are two of the best OG's we've ever had, maybe THE best. |

in fact, that play he was lined up at FB, and completely missed his block out in the open field....but rather than give up like the rest of the linemen did, he finished the play through the whistle.....thats the kind of effort that gives our team the advantage on gameday |
