Who has the edge to get to the superbowl?
Video - Video Central - FOX Sports on MSN
The “X” Factor: The citizens of New Orleans. This town may party for two straight weeks if the Saints win and go to the Super Bowl. OK, the Metrodome is loud, but the Superdome will be louder come Sunday night. For a change, the Vikings will have to worry about false starts and jumping off-sides and not hearing the snap count. Life might become a little disconcerting for them. Interestingly, Favre grew up a Saints’ fan and now he’s in position to either help or deprive the loyal Saints’ fans of their first ever Super Bowl experience. If Brett had only stayed retired, New Orleans wouldn’t have to worry. EDGE to the Saints. read the rest here Who has the edge in championship games? - NFL News - FOX Sports on MSN |

re: Who has the edge to get to the superbowl?
Saints..
1. At home 2. Dome environment favoring the saints 3. No practice loss due to travel 4. last 2 games Vikings show their hand, they won their last regular season game with all hands on deck and their first playoff game giving the saints more than enough tape to look at allowing our mad scientist (sean payton ) to conjure up something. - Lets hope he don't get "The fever" and try to make things cuter than it need to be. 5. We're pretty healthy everywhere 6. There's not enough tape on Reggie Bush, Shockey, Lance, PT, and half of our Defense back for Vikings to work off of, they literally have to go to the first part of our regular season to gather something which will be nothing in the playoffs. 7. We're coming off a high scoring win, if our Defense can emulate anything jets have and use it on Vikings and just do our thing on Offense, we're going to Miami. REP ME IF YOU FEEL ME |

I'm figuring most of them are thinking our defense got lucky, too.
I heard Hebert mention a stat on WWL - Porter & Greer only gave up 1 TD (Porter, and he was interfered with by the WR) when they were both on the field. Everyone thinks our defense is something it is not. It is MUCH better when Porter and Greer are on the field together. |

I preached that all last week, and I'll be preaching it again. If the Saints secondary can shut down arguably THE BEST wide receiver in football, what makes people think they can't do the same to Sidney "I wish I were Jerry" Rice and the rest of their receiving corps?

There's someone who hasn't drunk too much Yagermeister over the weekend ... nice clear thinking!

I'll concede that you've got the "X-Factor". Hell, we tried to tell that to a very confident cowboy fan base that the dome would be too much for them.
To think that it wouldn't matter for the Vikings would be asinine. The only way to take the fans out of the picture is to score first, score fast, and keep the momentum on our side. Way easier said than done. |

I really have no clue on how to predict this game. I think it will be a shoot out, to be honest. But who knows. I can say that our defensive line MUST pressure Brees, or it will be a long night. If they play the way they did against the cowgirls, I like the Vikings chances to win. |

I actually thought about that when I was typing it, but honestly, it makes sense. The top two scoring offenses in the NFL going head-to-head combine for over 60 PPG. 44 points would be considered a defensive game for both teams. lol
