Vikings Respect?

I've only seen Jeff Chadiha pick the Vikings. Sadly, I think the media sees you guys as a feel good story AND a talented team. I've heard only about how Favre is too old, the line is questionable, the secondary...etc. same stuff. So if anyone has proof of the Vikings being exalted, link it up!

Re: Vikings Respect?

Just wait. You'll get your pilers on later in the week. I expect at LEAST 40% of the talking heads will pick the Vikings. It would be 3/4s if it were in Minnesota.

After all...

We just beat a team with a bad defense, got a lucky game from Bush, can't win two playoff games in a row, lost our last 3 regular season games, are a small market team, lost to the Vikings before, etc.

It will be a good game - both teams are very good as they proved almost all season long...

Re: Vikings Respect?

We must be on completely different planets.

Most of the ESPN "experts" are already crowning Minnesota the victors.

Huh...

LOL..are you frikin crazy?...The Farve luvfest is in full force...I wouldnt be suprised if John Madden isnt a special guest in the booth just to gush over Farve...U wont respect come in the Dome and earn it..

Re: Vikings Respect?

I lost count last week of the number of "experts" that said the winner of the Vikings-Cowboys game would be the NFC Champ before we even played a down vs the Cardinals.

Armyofderek 01-19-2010 01:49 AM

Re: Vikings Respect?

Must be, cuz I go to ESPN's NFL page and Jets-Colts are the lead story. Then title game previews and keys for the Saints. Plus Schefter, Schlereth and Dilfer offering to drive the Saints to the airport.

It really is like opposite world over here lmao on the board I regularly post on we're all talking about the same stuff you guys are- just switch the teams for the context.

That was Dilfer, he was ALL OVER "America's Bandwagon" so when he said the "winner" he didnt mean "vikings" at all but he said the Cowboys would blow out the Vikings...

All I have seen here in Cali is analysts talking about Favre, Rice, and the Mullet. Maybe ESPN is regional, no?

I'm in South Dakota, it's nothing but Favre, Rice, Shaencoe, Mullet and AP.

Sickening!

Yeah, it's on right now.

Will we see one about Brees?

I'm gonna say no.

NFL's poster boy gets his own tv show. *gag*

Look at Drew, too! What a great guy, on and off the field. Great family man, Christian, extremely hardworking (earn your millions) type QB, courteous, community-oriented...can't say enough good about him. That would be a boring story, right?

Always love how people equate religion with strength of character.

Well darlin', speakin' from personal experience, the strongest, most impressive, decent, hardworking people I (personally) know ARE Christians. You might try it....belief in something other than yourself (mere mortal) seems to build character, and help in times of adversity. Sorry you're not a believer.

BTW, what are you gonna do with that politically incorrect avatar of yours while you're watching us play the Colts in a few weeks???

There was one about Brees, but there wasn't much to talk about... no MVP's, no meaningful records, no Super Bowls, no Championships... so little to talk about they put it between commercials during Favre's show.

Yeah. It's a good thing that Favre got all of those things in Minnesota. Although I thought Green Bay was in Wisconsin.

I had this memory of Joe Montana in KC, in the AFC championship game back in the early nineties. He had what, 4 rings with the Niners? How did that work out for Joe? Even better how did that work out for KC?

Gotta troll somewhere, huh? I can assure you that the WhoDat Nation would not give you a plug nickel for Favre, whereas we are quite happy with Drew as he is. Ya'll keep Favre. Hey, the way he's going, you might get another season outta him, anyway.....well, unless someone else offers him more $$$. I hear he likes to live LARGE!

You seem to be forgetting that your QB accomplished all that with Green Bay, your supposed division enemy.

And if I recall correctly, when Favre was with GB, he spanked your franchise numerous times for 16 years.

Your screen name should be FavreLover4Life, because you sure do talk about a man I'm sure you hated five years ago.

Yeah and you support the players on your team because you support the WHOLE team not part of it. If the Saints traded for Jon Abrams would you complain? Doubtful.

Actually I am a Christian but I've met many good people who seem to be fine people by their own standards as well as many poor character Christians. No point in bringing up religion.

Your right though the Colts dont use the "Who Dat?"...I'll figure something out.

Revisionist history runs rampant in Minny-haha. 5 or 6 yrs ago Viking fans were saying how washed up Favre was, that he sucked, int machine, etc. no credit at all.

The day he signed with the Vikings they all "admired Favre from afar", "always respected him", "loved the way he played" and any other such BS line you can think of.

Do you hang around with anybody who isn't your christian circle? Just wondering?

Re: Vikings Respect?

I'm just going to put it like this. Right now, I am watching the replay, of the Saints beating who was the last NFC Champion team, the Arizona Cardinals. Who has another Hall of Fame QB, Kurt Warner. A guy who was called the "best receiver" in the NFL Larry Fitzgerald. A team that put up 54 points on the leagues 2nd ranked defense the week before.

What did we do to them again? I forget. :)

Religion is always touchy... I strongly suggest we move away from this conversation. If this needs to continued, I'll move this to the smack talk forum. Back to the original topic at hand...

Now if it's any consolation, Colin Cowherd is riding the Vikes jock strap.

Yeah, so many Minnesota fans will tell you they hated Brett Favre from day one.

What gets me is, these same people who claimed they hated him, are now praising him, saying he's the best QB in the leage and they've loved him all along.

I call BS.

Agreed it's totally irrelevant in a football board.

I agree. It was brought up by me stating the fact that Drew is a Christian, and challenged by a Vike's fan. I have no problem letting it drop....I'm watching our fantastic playoff game anyway! Niters!

They're watching NFL network I think while eating fudge swirl icecream (just the fudge) while tuning their violins with a box of Kleenex because not everyone thinks the sun shines out of Brees' colon.
